Hi GiGi, It's a Medical Center here in PA.
I talked to an RN last night whose Daughter was tested there for Metals 27-years ago & it saved her life. Gail, herself, is allergic to Nickel! Who would imagine!

Nickel is a very common allergy...I've experienced it myself grinding on plated parts while trying to restore an old motorcycle. Yikes what hives and welts.

I had mine done a few years ago through Great Smokies Diagnostic which is a very good lab.
glad you will be tested. Just remember, most heavy metal tests are about as accurate as Lyme Disease tests. When your body does not release the metals, but keeps them locked up (for a variety of reasons, no test will tell that. Just like the Lyme antigens. If the body doesn't make any, they can't be found and used for evidence for Lyme.
Anyone that is good at ART or similar testing methods will find it if it is there. I am sure there are ART practitioners in the good State of PA. Same for chemical sensitivies. They usually develop because of exposure in the first place, but also because the body is in a weakened position from heavy metals and chemicals.
I was allergic to literally everything around me, including wool and silk. When I first arrived at Dr. K., he told me to quit worrying about the allergies because once the body is starting successfully to detox, most allergies fall off. That's what happened once I started to clean up my teeth, my jawbone, my brain, everything. I am not allergic to a single substance today. I stay away from chemicals because I just don't like the exposure, but basically I do not react to any in a negative way.
And just on an ongoing basis, watch out for the plastics, any plastics, including saran wrap. Dr. K. is using almost routinely now a plastic detox protocol, because literally every patient that comes in, with any chronic ailment, is plastic toxic. We started using this plastic stuff in the sixties and by about now, everybody with few exceptions has a plastic problem.
It severely affects the mitochondria, while the heavy metals damage the tubulin, which is responsible for transport of neurotransmitters.
Mercury inhibits the enzyme that makes the tubulin. That's the only substance ever found that at extremely low doses inhibits this enzyme, and by inhibiting this enzyme, it destroys the nervous system. Aluminum doesn't do it, lead does not do it, cadmium does not do it, thalium doesn't do it, plutonium doesn't do it, uranium doesn't do it -- only mercury does this.
This is the reason for the attention to mercury.
Also: There is a synergistic effect between different metals. A wonderful study on rats was done with lead and mercury.
LD stands for lethal dose. LD 1 of mercury (one lethal dose of mercury) given each to 100 rats. Result: One rat dies, 99 live.
LD 50 (50 doses of mercury) given to 100 rats. Result 50 rats die, 50 live.
If you give an LD l of lead and an LD l of mercury together to the same rat, to all 100 rats - results: all 100 rats die.
Synergy - 1 plus 1 = 100. That's synergy in toxicology.
There has virtually been no studies between different chemicals.
Having a small amount of toxin in the environment is not a bad thing. But having a small amount of 10,000 different chemicals is a bad thing. Then it becomes the question - out of this synergistic effect, which is the main one that we have to take out? because we can't take all of them out? That is where mercury plays a unique and incredibly important role.
One of the last seminars I attended was heavy on this subject and seeing all the research displayed and a knowledgable doctor talking about what he has been doing on this for 20-some years, is most convincing. I experienced that with my own Lyme problems and I will never change my mind on this subject. Mercury is a killer.
The sooner you can check this out for yourself, the better.
