I am just wondering as I'm supposed to take the two together, which previously I thought was a no-no.

our dr had us take diflucan for 8 weeks and then the ketek afterward.
He did say that some drs. were trying them together. I imagine it would be harder on your liver.

Yes, mine would now like me to take them together. However, earlier this year I was told they were to be taken separately (i.e. not on same day).
Am I one of the first to be doing this then?
Anyone else?

I'm not on diflucan right now, dll, but...
May I just take a moment to say...
KETEK IS THE MOST OBNOXIOUS ANTIBIOTIC I'VE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF TAKING!
I feel like absolute doo doo for a couple of hours after taking it each day.
I'm going to try that suggestion I heard last night, or was it the day before, and start taking it at night, for real. Sheesh.
Sorry to hijack you're post for a moment, dll.

Hi DLL.
I don't think that I would like to be made a guinea pig when it comes to combining two hepatoxic drugs at the same time. I'm with GreanPea on this one.

Thanks.
I think I might ask if I can go back on the protocol I was on before my stomach went a bit haywire, which was ketek mon-fri and Diflucan on weekend. That worked well for me for quite a while and I improved a lot on that.
I am not sure about what the reasoning is for now being advised to take Ketek and Diflucan together, daily.
Am going to try to find out.

Been on Ketek for 7 mos, LLMD added Diflucan 3 mos ago. Thankfully, no problems so far (other than the herx flares, of course)

thanks pantsinsocks!
Did you have an EKG when you started the two together to check QT interval? Do/did you have them subsequently to an initial EKG also?
I am just a little worried because I get a lot of heart 'skips', racing, especially overnight it's worse. My EKG's have always been normal, when no no abx, and when on Ketek alone though. But, whenever I've had an EKG, in the 20 seconds or so it takes, I don't get the skips, etc. (I realize the QT interval is a differerent thing though)
