Pediatrician keeps pushing these, but my dentist is holistic, and he says that there is no evidence that fluoride helps if taken orally. Only topically applied fluoride helps protect the teeth against decay. We don't have fluoride in the water, but I am hesitant to give my son a multi with fluoride in it.
Is there a good OTC baby vitamin drop without the fluoride that I can use?

This debate may rage on forever. I will say that I took fluoride pills as a child and it realy made a difference long term. In hindsind, I might have prefered sealants.
I can only imagine what the fluoride + Lyme has done to my health over the years.

Here is some information on the negatives of flouridation. Im sure there are positives which I have not looked for. We had our children on a well, and we DID NOT FLOURIDE our children. They all have excellent teeth, except for our daughter who has a terrible case of lyme and problems with bacterial overgrowth below her molars in the root of the tooth due to lyme (cultured positive).

Dental caries on the contrary, is not a fluoride related disease: it is a bacterial disease. Can be easily prevented, if oral hygiene practises are promoted and calcium and vitamin C in the diet are given in adequate quantum to the child even before birth through maternal diet.

Symptoms
"Among 81 people, interviewed during a household survey, who were served by system 1, 51 (63%) had illness meeting the case definition. This suggested that among all 470 residents of system 1 63%, or 296 of them, developed fluoride poisoning.
All were Alaskan Native of whom 50% were female. Their ages ranged from 6 months to 73 years (median 21 years).
Symptoms. were related primarily to the gastro-intestinal system, i.e., nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Other symptoms included headache, itching, weakness, numbness or tingling of an extremity, shortness of breath, and fatigue. The median latency period (38 cases) ranged from less than 1 to 150 minutes (median 7 minutes) and the median duration of illness (53 cases) ranged from 1 to 132 hours (median 24 hours).
The case of the individual who died was characterized by repeated vomiting and drinking multiple glasses of water. A summary in the Final Report stated that post mortem examination revealed aspiration of gastric contents with pulmonary necrosis and inflammation. Serum calcium was 4.9 mg/dL (norm = 8.4-10.2); magnesium 3.4 mg/dL (norm = 1.7-2.2); and alcohol 0.028%. The urine fluoride level, not corrected for creatinine, was 55 mg/dL. The death certificate listed.the final cause of death as "Acute Overdose, Sodium Fluoride"."
I gave my oldest son (now 12yo) flouride pills when he was little dutifully because afterall that is what I was told to do. I stopped when he was 7 because I started questioning most things conventional medicine was having me do on autopilot.
He has white flouride spots on his permanent front teeth that cost hundreds $$$ to have removed. He is the only one of my children that took flouride and he is the only one that has chronic teeth and gum problems. uuggghhhh hindsight

Both a homeopathic doc and dentist that I see confirmed that a very small amount applied topically to the teeth is a better idea than fluoride drops, as seems to be the consensus here as well.
