Anyone have mouth sores while herxing? Got any tips for managing this? They're REALLY painful and seem to last forever!

I get these, too (just the mouth), and I agree with what you said -- they're very painful, and it seems to take forever for them to go away.
One thing someone suggested that seems to work fairly well is to put toothpaste on the sore. The problem is keeping the toothpaste there. But that has been helpful.
I also take l-lysine, which you can get anyplace that sells vitamins. It's an amino acid and also works to speed the recovery.
Finally, I've gotten my acupuncturist involved with this, and she has worked on herbs to help me as well as specific treatments.
All these in combination have seemed to work at limiting the numbr of these I get and the time I have them.

If you are talking about little craters in the mouth that sting, they may be aphthous ulcers. Vitamin B deficiency, which is common to lymies, can be a cause. In my case, when I get them, a shot of B12 clears them up overnight.

Hi there,
I also get these painful sores in my mouth while herxing.
Some things that I have found that work are L-lysine 500mg (as mentioned, used to control herpes virus), swishing with salt water or even better, swishing with epsom salts (if you can stand the taste - be careful not to swallow - laxative effects!)
My LLMD is not sure what causes these outbreaks - might be lyme, bart or viral (herpes, etc) but they always appear on the 2nd day of my 5 day herxes and they hurt! I totally sympathize, hang in there.
