This is something new for me. After 5 months of abx, I just noticed a few days ago that I had very sublte pins & needles feelings occasionally in my feet, legs, hands and forearms. When I bang my left heal on the floor, I can feel the pins & needles around the heal but no pins & needles if I bang the right heal on the floor.
Anyone else with subtle pins & needles? Why am I developing this new symptom after 5 months of treatment? I was feeling a lot better now I feel like I'm going backwards in my treatment.

This is also a new develoment for me, although I'm not on abx. It comes and goes. Sometimes I wake up with my hands numb, more so the right. Then throughout the day, the right hand feels puffy, more stiff, but I can still use it. My feet get tingling, numbness, comes and goes, but more so after I've walked or done some activity. I'm wondering whether it's a healing phenomenon vs. a getting worse phenomenon. I'd also love to hear some opinions.

Sayyesh - waking with your hands numb and pins and needles sounds like carpal tunnel, especially if they feel swollen during the day. Are you right handed? If so, that would explain why your right hand is a little worse - you use it more.
I was diagnosed with very mild carpal tunnel a few months back. Some days my hands feel HUGE! My first symtom was waking with numb hands and pins and needles.
Have you had an EMG of your arms, or nerve conduction studies? This is how my carpal tunnel was diagnosed.
Hope it doesn't get too bothersome.

Wow, Cathy, thanks for responding. Carpal tunnel has crossed my mind. Re the hands, it's more numbness than tingling. One day I was holding the phone, talking, and when I hung up, I could feel the numbness traveling down my right thumb and then spread to the rest of my hand. That freaked me out. This was real numbness - like oh no, I lost the use of my hand. Otherwise, I've been waking up with the numbness in my hands, more the right, but sometimes the left. Who should I go to see about this? The feet are another thing I suppose. More pins and needles there, and itchiness.

Feeling lots of pin pricks lately. Does this mean the buggers on in my nervous system and/or brain? This new symptom makes me worry about MS. Great something new to be concerned about.
Can I get rid of the buggers and this symptom with just oral abx?

I have had pins and needles for years. MS has been ruled out. While I was on the abx, they actually went away, mostly. I'm currently off because of an allergic reaction.
For you, it could be part of herxing

Pins and needles in my feet was my first symptom and has been coming and going for at least 4 years. I get it in my feet, hands, ears, and sometimes the tip of my tongue. I just started treatment a week ago and so far no changes. It just feels good to finally be doing something about what is wrong with me and have answers.

Yes, it can be Lyme. I get tingling (like the last part of your foot "waking up" after having fallen asleep) in my hands and feet. Some people describe the sensation as buzzing.
When I was first treated for Lyme, it got so it went all the way up my arms to my shoulders. My feet also get quite painful at times, matching or exceeding the arthritis ache in my hands.
My mom has been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in her feet. They have been so painful at times that even a blanket over them is unbearable. She has been through many different procedures to try and relieve her pain, including injections and surgeries. They didn't help. She didn't believe me that it might be Lyme until much later, along with a diagnosis from an LLMD.
So please consider that it might be Lyme, or a herx from Lyme, before you get involved chasing lots of treatment options. And ask your LLMD about your sensations, so (s)he is fully informed of your progress.

I had pins and needles in both arms and legs when I was diagnosed last spring. After four months of oral antibiotics, this symptom subsided. I hated this feeling; it was 24/7 for me for a couple months before I started treatment. While on abx, it occasionally flared, but now it's gone...thankfully.

Thank you for your feedback. I did have an MRI over a year ago to rule out MS because of a different odd symptom that I had prior to the lyme diagnosis. The MRI was normal. Perhaps this new symptom is part of a herx. I didn't have it at the time of the MRI or before I started abx. Hopefully, it will go away with continued abx treatment.

Pins and needles Very common- I had them real bad for a long time before I started treatment
After few months of ABX the tingles are mostly gone--
Symptoms will come and go new ones will show up-- This is to be expected--
As far as carple tunnel goes-- Lyme can cause something very similar in wrists and it really hurts--Jay--
