OK. I am really confused. I have my LLMD who is Dr C in Mo and my local GP who "oversees" the PICC line and now I have a cardiologist b/c I developed blood clots around the PICCline. He has me on coumadin for the clots.
I am taking IV rocephin - day 30 and I added 250 mg flagyl BID a week ago. Also take nystatin, difflucan and actigall.
Since I have 3 doctors and I can't drive, so it has to be really intentional to go, I am not sure which doctor to take this up with.
I also started rechts-regulat a week and a half ago. I know this can effect the coumadin (blood thinner), so I have to get it checked.
What direction should I go in? I also take milk thistle, magnesium, iodine, acidopholus, cod liver oil, etc.

you need to act ASAP. see your cardiologist to get your heart checked out.
if your on all these at the same time, i'd consider dropping the flagyl, diflucan, and milk thistle, and the rocephin for now.
reasons: 1. flagyl and difucan severely affect the liver. 2. diflucan affects heart functioning. 3. most if not all abx given intravenously are processed heavily by the kidney. 3. within the last 2-3 yrs. there has been some re-thinking about taking milk thistle concurrently with certain medications, and instead its recommended to be taken when off these meds.
you need to check with your doc, AND ALL drug sources for interaction of effects.

Hmm. If swollen ankles are a NEW thing, I'd be checking into it for certain. With your cardiac concerns (i.e., blood clots etc.), I would be letting my cardiologist know about it ASAP. While it could be an innocuous thing, and hopefully IS, I would want my cardiologist to check it out first and foremost. (Heart working inefficiently as a cause of swollen ankles is one I'd feel better ruling out before moving on to other causes!)
Good luck.

Seems the side effects from your "lyme cure" are worse than the lyme. Quitting everything and trying to find a way to get your body back to healthy makes a lot of sense to me.

Please get this checked out ASAP. I was on coumadin and it interacted with something else I was taking making the coumadin "more potent". This resulted in swollen joints due to internal bleeding of joints (ankles, knees, elbows). End result was I could barely walk for a month.

I forgot to check email responses, so I didn't know I got responses until I got the PM from firebaby. Ok, I am on hold with the cardiologist. Thanks for the info.
I did a search and the more personal info was more helpful in this instance. I started rechts-regulat and that can thin the bood. Oh oh. I am going to fax info about rr to the cardiologist. They will really think I "out there" now.
Oh well, here goes.
Thanks for the input.

the certain fatty acids in fish oil are blood thinners, and so are not to be taken with other blood thinners, at least, blood-thinning meds.
certain herbs are blood thinners.
certain garlic extracts are blood thinners
ask your pharmacist about blood thinning drugs, and non-drug, blood thinning products--otc, and prescriptive.
