If I was a woman I might try douching with some colloidal silver. Scratch that, I definately would try it. Also, due to the fact some viruses cause cervical cancer it should be a good preventative medicine.

Im so sorry. I was really hoping she would be able to help you out a lot more. Did she even do a vag. culture for yeast??? If that was normal and then yeah, a UTI could cause burning. Is the burning just in the vag area (like the skin and such?)?
Man, I hope you get to feeling a lot better here soon.

Cant, Prior to Lyme dx, gyn thought I had cervical cancer, due to anomalies that showed up in my tests.
Then, like everything else, that didn't pan out with further testing.
I also had incredible discomfort during the work-up and almost kicked the asst. during a cervical biopsy.
Not cervical cancer. Not bladder cancer. Not a brain tumor. Not tendonitis. Or diabetes. Not hyperthyroidism.
So many tests, so many ducks...and it all boiled down to Lyme!

Im sending you a private message. Have you tried using a barrier cream down there like a rash ointment. I find A and D ointment helps if I am having a big of a problem.

i don't care what you do to treat the problem, you still NEED something for the pain. I know how bad it can be and it really keeps you from feeling normal at all because of the pain.
when i had a nasty uti/vaginal pain my pa prescribed tramadol which helped releive it while i concentrated on treating it.
i really feel for you.
feel better

oops, i forgot
i went to a uro-gynocologist and was helped enormously. one thing was to go on vaginal hormones (low dosage) and the other was to take a sufa drug (can't remember which one) to keep the area acidic to kill off bacteria.
if you are in a somewhat populated area there should be one around.

Did she rule out IC? I had IC a few years ago and it was excrutiating. The urologist gave me Levaquin thinking it was a UTI. Ultimately she gave me Elmiron and it stopped the agony and burning. Just a thought.
Hang in there, I know it' brutal.

she didnt mention IC, but i have been thinking it maybe IC. The azo seems to help a tad...

Hi,
If your tests come back negative, you may be suffering from vulvodynia, which makes one feel like they have an infection, when there isn't one. For the past ten years, I have suffered with vulvodynia, chronic UTIs, yeast and bacterial infections, and that white "junk" in crevices you wrote about. IMHO: If your tests come back negative, I suspect the Lyme is causing a good portion of your pain because it affects the CNS. Now that I have the correct diagnosis and treatment, I'm having very few problems. However, the die-off periods can cause vulvar flares that are very painful. Things that have helped me:
1. I sit in a CLEAN bathtub filled with 2-3 inches of warm water with 1 cup of Epsom salt for 20-30 minutes. 2. I take several supplements daily to help with inflammation and to help avoid infections: Uva Ursi, Quercetin, SAM-e, Caprin, probiotics, and SF-722. 3. Spray some colloidal silver on the inflamed tissue 1-2 times daily. FYI: This can be drying to the tissue, so you may need to use 50% colloidal silver mixed with 50% sterile/distilled water. 4. Keep the tissue hydrated after bathing and urination by adding a thin layer of Criso or olive oil. 5. You may need more Diflucan; I take 200 mg Diflucan every three days. (I'm doing 2 IV drugs and 1 oral). 7. You may have some food allergies, cut out white sugar and flour from your diet to see if this helps with urgency and urethral burning (IC issues). (My doc. recommends the Sugar Busters diet.)
Hang in there, it will get better.

When I was in your boat I was in agony. It hurt to drive in the car, just the vibrations of the car were killing.
I found something at the health food store called Yeastaway by Boiron (?), suppositories that tooke me from hell to comfortable. Most health food stores carry them. Lymelady

Cantgive up - This is what happened to me also.
If you are on abx it is nearly impossible for them to be able to culture any bacteria, and I was also told that I did not have an "actual" yeast infection. meaning that I did not have discharge along with the burning and pain ( sorry to be graphic)
I would definetly get a second opinion and see a Urologist...
For me they were not able to come up with a definite conclusion except to say I had possible IC..amd also pointed out that they had sen several Lyme Patients with similar problems that they possibly linked to neurological damage causing some of the pain.
Hang in there,,,, Have you seen any relief with abx?? Have you tried cipro or Macrobid?
