It's been a year now that I've been feeling pretty good. I start back to school in about a week so I thought I'd drop in here to hopefully offer hope because I always appreciated the hope when I was down and out and sick of being sick.

Hang in there everyone, because there is a light at the end of that tunnel. It might take years, but there is always hope.

I was ill for at least a year before being diagnosed and my treatment was slow, but I did get better. You really have to be your own patient advocate with Lyme and you have to fight everday, but I can tell you from experience that the fight is worth it when your life comes crawling back to you. Celebrate the little victories and eventually you will win the war!

Wishing you wellness in 2006 and beyond!

Nancy,

Good for you - can you provide the top 5 things that you think were the most important in your recovery? Thanks

Hi Scott,

The top five things were probably:

finding the right LLMD and taking his advice;

toughing out the abx and herxes;

reading as much as I could so I could decide what supplements were needed and remembering to take them; I recall the day it dawned on me that if I was ever to recover then I had to take a multi-faceted approach to treatment.

lots of support from friends, family and LymeNet. I deeply appreciate all the information I gained from those that walked this lonely road before me.

REST and lots of it as needed (you need to listen to your body). Everyday is a new adventure in LymeWorld and recovery happens at a snails pace.

Peace and Healing!
