these contain aluminum. i didnt know for a long time, but recently found out. my friend was taking huge shots daily and has since stopped entirely. aluminum is a very dangerous poisin. look up heavy metals and aluminum.

On the thread you referenced, she was talking about cyanocobalamin. We are talking about compunded Methylcobalamin. So far the best answer I have gotten from a compounding pahmacist is that they do not put any aluminum in the mixture. However, he was not sure there was no aluminum in the powder they use to make the compound.
One thing I know is that many doctors that specialize in treating Autisim prescribe Methyl b-12 injections. These are the "cutting edge" docs ( sorta like our LLMD's). They believe that heavy metals contribute to autisim. So I don't think they would prescribe a treatmant that added to the problem.
Still not sure. Maybe someone on here knows a copounding pharmacist or biochemist and can get a definiive answer.
Thanks, robi

Just so there is no confusion, I am talking about Methylcobalamin, not Cyanocobalamin. This does not contain alumninum, its made by a compounding pharmacy, and injected once daily in the morning. It works great, i have doent hem for many months. Looking for good prices! thanks! Posted by GiGi (Member # 259) on :
Methylcobalamin - you want to be sure you get the "preservative-free". Call Tahoma Clinic in Renton, Washington. 1-888-893-6878. They used to supply it to us very reasonably. I don't know what they charge now. I think it is compounded by Apothe'Cure, but sold to us by Tahoma clinic for less than we used to get it from Apothe'Cure in Texas direct. It's the same stuff.
Take care.

About aluminum in injectables. I just talked to a pharmacyst where I get all my injectables from, and he said that they do not put aluminum in anything. The reason that they have to disclose that there is some in there is because it is in most of the components that the solution is in - the glass, the stopper, the water. It's impossible to stop any leaching. He said that NO one makes a completely aluminum free product. It's not just B - 12, it's all injectables.

Micul,
Yes, I think you got it right. I was told that the warning on the cyanocobalamin bottle that says 'not more than XXX aluminum"resulted from a law suit where there was too much aluminum (any, is too much in my opinion)and some kids got ill.
The warning does not mean it has aluminum, just that if it does it doesnt exceed a certain amount.
Sounds to me like you have accurate info.
Thanks for posting.

Has anybody else found a good price for the injectable methylcobalamin? I found a few places, still looking though. So far, so good!
If so, can you post the source or send a PM, thanks!

I used to get mine compounded from Medaus Pharmacy. Actually, they compounded the Methyl B12 plus the other things Dr. B recommended in his Tx guidelines.
Can't remember what now, probably the B6, etc.
Anyway, I had figured out the strength I needed of each enzyme per injection and they figured out all the compounding stuff and put it all into one vial.
This was a couple of years ago, however. But, they did have great customer service:
You can now get nasal methylb12 from the compounding pharmacies. Its as effective.

I get mine from a local pharmacy and my insurance covers all but $18 of it for me. That's probably how Aguess gets it free. Either that or that was what came up on the screen and teat means they don't have a fixed price. Since it's compounded they may not have one.

Mine is preservative free from Wellness Pharmacy
in Birmingham, AL. It is $297 for 30 vials +
shipping. Which I think was $11. (I have to pay
$27 for overnight for our Glutathione.)
25mg Methyl B-12 per ml. Ins reimburses me 80%.

Sorry about the omission of the price on my last post. This was a cut & paste from their web site, and they do not have their price listed.
I have tried to edit the original post, but can not figure out how to save it.
The price I paid last time was $330.00 for a qty of 30. These are 25 mg/ml units.
Price includes shipping.

Is there a down side to the Methyl B12 shots? The information that I've read on it sounds really good. I have been using the cyanocobalamin B12 shots. The Methyl B12 sounds so much better. I don't know why everyone wouldn't use it instead of the other.

I get my methyl b-12 from College Pharmacy here in Colorado. I only pay my $9.00 co pay since my insurance does cover it.
