Are you, like me, looking for ways to have a somewhat decent dining life in this sugarless, carbless world? My daughter is the most finnicky eater on the planet! Taking into account natural dislikes, then adding things she has turned against because of association with nausea bouts, there isn't much left.
I'm hoping we can share some ideas/recipes that would make the "anti-yeast approved list", but have a shot at the "kid-approved" list as well.
Maybe we can even come up with a cook book, publish it and donate proceeds to the LLMD Protection Fund!
Don't take me too seriously - I was up most of the night with said daughter, trying to help her deal with unrelenting shooting, stabbing pain. Thanks, Doxy!

What a great idea! We have the same challenge, except that I can't even claim to have made it near the sugarless, carbless world yet. The bigger struggle these days is getting her to eat some fat with her Mepron twice a day. She is allergic to dairy, so cheese is not an option.

The only thing that helps at all is trying to involve her as much as possible in meal planning (and this is only somewhat successful). Breakfast is always a challenge. She really doesn't like breakfast food (mostly carbs anyway), but she'll frequently eat dinner left overs from night before -- left over tacos, etc. She is very finicky when it comes to meat, but likes beans and she especially likes spicy, ethnic food.

I hope others have some good suggestions because I could use them to.

Boy can I relate to this! My 16 year old son is craving carbs all the time! I'm going to see a nutritionist to get some ideas for him. He is always hungry and it seems that everything has carbs in it that he wants. I asked him the other night if he wanted some fruit and some lemon water. And his reply was no.... I want mountain dew and doritios mom!

Concerned mother-I found your post interesting because I am craving carbs myself(I'm not a teen-I'm 53!!)..I'm not good about watching what I eat and I do take nystatin for the yeast. It seems to be helping, but I sure do have those carb and sugar cravings. Any help would be appreciated!! [bonk]

The carb and sugar cravings are the body's effort to find energy, I think. I don't know if we are allowed to mention diets on here, but the Zone Diet is all about balance - the correct ratio of fat to protein to simple carbs like veggies and some fruits. Supposedly, if you stick with it, your carb cravings diminish, then disappear. Some of the recipes are actually good.

I have done the zone diet mentioned above and the first time I was on it I had severe sugar cravings for about 1 week then I was fine.

Good food and alot of it too.

My mom is overweight and just diagnosed with type2 diabetes and this is the diet her doc put her on.
