how did it work? i'm real leary about this. i think the doc just thinks i'm nuts and wants to dope me up

its from a neuro-not an llmd. i can't ask my llmd til feb

I've been there. About three years ago, pre lyme diagnosis, dizzy for one year already, I was on that merry go round. Second or third doc by this time, three weeks of Amoxi for dizziness, didn't help so I was diagnosed with viral labyrinthitis no further antibiotics.

Dizziness continued. Then ordered on Antivert. didn't work either. By the summertime, it was decided that it was probably due to my stressful job. That's when the Zoloft came in.

I was reluctant, but desperate. I tried it for about two months. Did it work? Well I guess you could say yes and no. I was still dizzy but I didn't care. [dizzy]

Stopped it.

No relief until recently. Dizziness is about 75% better now. First real relief occurred in the past couple of weeks. Under LLMD supervision.

Personally, I think that is the favorite drug of choice by neurologists.

When I saw mine, complaining about headaches, stiff neck, blurry vision, weird buzzing/vibrating sensations, etc. (all Lyme symptoms), he said that I was stressed out and depressed and gave me Zoloft.

I didn't really want to take it, but I didn't know what was wrong with me at the time so I took one pill and it made me bounce off the walls - rapid heartrate and pulse rate. I stopped immediately.

And here is news about Zoloft - it is an anti-depressant but one of its side effects is suicidal tendencies. Go figure.

I take zoloft as part of my NMH (Neurally mediated Hypotension) protocol. It works great for my dizziness. be aware that when you start zolof tit canmake you dizzy for a week or 2, then it goes away. if you miss a dose, it can make you dizzy, and lightheaded too. Once you take it regularly, it works great, does for me anyway. better than meclizine and other anti dizzy, drug your brains out meds.

I have had chronic vertigo for almost 2 years now.

Its not due to depression!!!! It causes depression.

THANK YOU ALL!!!! i'm leaning toward not taking it. my dizziness after a car accidnt and concussion got better in 4 months w/o meds. just time. i know my dizziness is getting less and less. now i only get it when i read or write...and i've just been thru a lot with an abdominal surgery and taking pain meds i really don't like. i need to cleanse and get back on my regular supps and exercise .... i took one prozac once and threw the rest away-made me feel like i was walking but my feet weren't touching the ground. i hate that feeling and i hate taking anything if i don't understand how it is working. thanks for your answers.
