I have added Allergy Research Prima Una de Gato to my list of supplemetns. It says to take on an empty stomach.
I have to take my Rifampin (and armour tyroid) on an empty stomach also.
Can I take with my ABX ( rifampin, mino, amoxicillin) at athe same time as cat's claw? It's hard to schedule if I have to take this away from my abx but I don't want to mess with the effectiveness of the abx or the cat's claw.
What have you done?

I take my cat's claw, 4 capsules at a time now, three times a day WITH my meals. Because it can cause stomach upset.
As a matter of fact, I take ALL my herbs with my three meals each day.
The main thing is that you do NOT take antiacids or acid blockers with Cat's Claw. As they can inhibit the conversion of the herb in the stomach.
Start out slow with them and keep adding one pill per time each week until you get to your maximum dose.
Have you read the Healing Lyme book? It goes into great detail on this and many other herbs for the healing of Lyme Disease.

PS: I believe it is okay to take with your abx. I did until recently when I started taking a probiotic, acidophilus, which is important for cleaning out your system and putting back the GOOD bactieria that the abx destroy.
SO, now I take my abx two hours either after or before my meal.

You can take Cat's Claw with ABX, other drugs, or vitamins, just not with other herbs. Klutzo

Klutzo: WHY would you say THAT? I have NEVER heard THAT before!
From everything else I have read, I have found NO other herbs so far that Cat's Claw, (whole), can't be taken with.
Clue me in pleae.

hi,actually there are very specific instructions for liquid una de gato or samento,same thing.check out lyme-rife group,yahoo,files/a lot of info and personal experiences.the author says to do liquid una de gato on empty stomach.i have to take armour thyroid too.i take it first thing,a.m.,as i did una de gato drops and now do raintree cats clawppills -both together,no problem.oi personally would wait and do the abx a bit later on seperately,but that would be my style..i mean wait an hr.but that would be my thing...buhner book seems to indicateone would take all the pills(3 or 4 core herbs)together,at one time..if i understood correctly.

There's a big difference between Samento (liquid or caps) and pure cat's claw (Una de Gato)! I take pure cat's claw with meals (much stronger than Samento), at the same time as the abx and other herbals. However, when I had initially been researching which to take, I recall reading that the liquid Samento should be taken on an empty stomach. Samento is TOA-free. What I am taking is not.
