I have had the total body numbness and it scared me so much.

Happened to me in the middle of the night,, woke up with arms and legs numb. It felt like the kind of numbness you get when you lay on your arm too long. However, I had it on both sides of my body so I knew it wasn't from that.

I thought I was having a stroke at the time. It hasn't happened to me in quite some time.

It had never happened to me before Lyme.

Hope you feel better.

Sandy

Vencat,

What you're describing is so scary, and I'm really sorry you're having to deal with this. It's my understanding tht numbness is a symptom of neuro Lyme.

When I had been on abx 28 days, I had my first major herx, which was total body paralysis. I could talk and think but couldn't move any part of my body at all.

I went to the ER, though they actually didn't do anything. In all, the episode lasted over 4 hours. It happened again exactly 28 days later. And again, it lasted about 4 hours.

Now, I get periodic numbness in my ankles, foot, face. Usually, it occurs later in the day but it's never happened at night.

This is something I had NEVER experienced prior to being sick with Lyme.

It is really scary, and unfortunately, I haven't found anything that can help when this starts to happen. By the way, a brain scan prior to my Lyme dx was completely positive.

I hope you're able to get some sleep and feel better.

Andie
