Over the past several years, I have read where not just several, but, many experiences with hairloss. Throughout my several years of treatment I have experienced this.
What did my LLMD (website through below link) say about this???
He said, and I quote, "I've never seen anyone go bald. Stop worrying about it as that could help with the hairloss."

Yes. There seems to be very little I can do about it though.

Lyme often affects thyroid. At the same time I had hair loss, my skin was very dry, and my nails kept breaking off. LLMD ran thyroid tests and started me on Armour Thyroid when results came back. Have not had hair loss since!

Hi,
Many people with Lyme Disease have problems with hair loss.
Before I was dx'd, I had a lot of hair loss. It would come out in clumps.
Shortly after starting treatment, my hairloss stopped. Just last month, I had a short spell of hair loss again but now it's back to normal.
I haven't heard of anyone going bald from it though a lot of us thought it might happen.

Yep, one of my very very first symptoms, which lead me on the lyme path.
Mine happens more in the shower....clumps and clumps one day, then not so much the next. Since I started the Diflicun for yeast....my hairloss seemed to go down some.
My Thyroid has come back fine.....i think it is just a lyme symptom. I used to fret about it when it was one of my two symptoms......now that i have many more....it doesnt bother me.
The ducks all ignored my hair loss.

My hair used to be extremely thick and luxurious. It started falling out about a year after I became ill. Now it is so thin I feel embarrassed about it. I'd like to know if any lymies who've been in tx. a long while are getting their hair back.

Hi All My hair was falling out-- My hair even went from super curley to straight in about 6 weeks--
I have gone threw several rounds of hair loss-- Now it seams to have stopped--
About a month ago I stoped taking doxi and and started taking Bactrim instead of mepron--
Now my hair seems to have stoped falling out and the curl seems to be coming back-- Not sure why tho--Jay--

My hair was coming out in clumps when I showered at the beginning of my Lyme treatment.
In the past few weeks, though, I've realized that I've quit losing hair -- at least at the same rate.
Don't think it's filling out again, but I'm hopeful.

I clog the drain.
My hair used to be too thick. At least now I can wear a pony tail and not get a headache from the weight of my hair.
I don't think I'm going to go bald but it can be alarming to see all my hair everywhere.
Even at work they said something about my hair being everywhere.
I have to keep picking it off my clothes.

Biotin seems to help as well as not eating sugary suff.
I notice a marked increase in hair loss coincides with an increase in sugar consumption ie; candy, cookies. I'm guessing the hairloss is actually from a "quick" rise in yeast levels.
I was sooo careful with sweets and sweet carbs. I then started taking Theralac and realized I could have a candy bar or cake/ice cream and still keep the yeast under control. Well this is true sort of. I think you can escape many of the most noticeble, uncomfortable symptoms of yeast but . . . the yeast is still growing steadily and other systems (including your hair) will suffer if you eat what you know you shouldn't.

My hair loss has decreased since I've started the bio-identical hormones.
Lucky me, I got sick which put me into early menopause (mid 40's) and then found out about Lyme. My hormones, not just female, have been screwy throughout this ordeal. Adrenal especially.
Anyway, I had a saliva test for hormones and we started progesterone sublingual tabs, testosterone cream (real fun!) and DHEA. That pretty much stopped the hair loss and gave me some of my libido back. Posted by lucy96734 (Member # 8372) on :
My DH has thyroid problems and I think Lyme. I was just dx and he is going to be tested. He has Alopecia Totalis and has lost all his hair on his head and most of the hair on his body even his eyebrows and eyelashes. He has hair under his arms and that is it for hair. It started about 5 years ago with little clumps and patches but progressed to this total loss.
He actually looks pretty good bald and I have gotten used to the no eyebrows. I am glad it isn't me- LOL
He went to a Dr that gave him the shampoo and ointment but it didn't do anything. She said he could try steroid injections in his scalp but he declined.
