I'd like to know if any members have tried NON-antibiotic treatments. If so, what was the outcome? Thanks for responding.

PS: Also, what was the non-antibiotic tx you tried, and how long did you pursue it?

I tried Samento - the herbal drops remedy - for two months with no success. However I know several people in ireland who have tried it with good results. I am now on abx.

Before I knew I had Lyme, I tried acupuncture. I did an hour of acupuncture a week for two years. It was very helpful, but I relapsed when I stopped treatment. It was helpful in relieving pain, improved energy, and also helped mood.
I also did classical homeopathy for almost two years. Although I had success with homeopathy before Lyme infection, it did not seem to help once I had what I now know was a Lyme infection, and I finally gave up.
I have done osteopathic manipulation for over two years now, every 3 weeks, and it has been very helpful in relieving pain and headaches, along with other treatments.

Before I found it I had Lyme/Babesisa/Bartonella. I did Massage therpy for 3 years. It was the best release I have ever done. The way she did it, it was a complete body massage with incense, music and you release your mind for all the mind and inpurities. Also worked with a chiropractor for about 1 year and ti chi all of this work for about 1 year. Then everything went a sharp turn downhill.

I am allergic to all ABX except Cipro, so alt. tx is all I've had. I tried the Zhang Protocol for Lyme for 6 months, with little result, except an empty wallet and I smelled awful (very expensive and has tons of garlic in it). I tried MHA energy medicine vials for one month, with no result. I tried MOH LymeSets #173 for one month, at the insistance of my now ex-holistic doctor, and it put me in the hospital with dangerously high potassium levels, and liver and gallbladder stress. I have now been on Samento for 20 months with much herxing and lots of improvement, esp. in energy, sleep and pain. I no longer need anything for pain. I can walk on a treadmill for 40 minutes at high speed. I am driving a car again! Neuro continues to be a problem, but I was mis-dx'd for 20 yrs., so it will not resolve overnight. I have recently added adjuncts to the Samento, ie. Cumanda, Quina and Burbur for detox (The Cowden protocol). The Valetta Protocol has also helped with calming my neuro problems, ie. small doses of Magnesium Citrate, B Complex and lecithin througout the day. I am also taking a homeopathic called Ignatia for my neuro problems, esp. Lyme rages, and it is helping a lot. I feel much stronger emotionally. Klutzo

This might not quite fit this post, but I've found that once I discovered the right abx for my situation, they worked quickly. So if you are concerned about getting stuck with longterm antibiotic treatment, you might want to peruse the site and learn about the various new options that are available to you.
