i apologize for the vagueness of that question, but what i wanted to ask is how severe your symptoms got before you got treated? i mean, i got bit in june but the doc is saying i am already late stage lyme. guess it moves pretty fast.

i have floaters or rather i am seeing bugs on the carpet, people moving at the corner of my eye when no one is there, eye hurts, twitches, constipation, diahhrea, severe headaches, tiredness, and worse, can't sleep. i can be exhausted but i can't sleep. it's like my mind won't shut off.

since i can't get in for another month for treatment, i'm really scared. will this hurt, going another month?

geez, guess the depression and worry is part of it.

Mine got really bad before I went to an LLMD. And yes, it moves very fast, apparently.

There are so few lyme literate doctors, but a month is not a long time to wait to get in. Sad, but true.

You do have an appointment with a lyme literate medical doctor, right? Not just a regular doctor?

It's definitely not good to wait at all, but considering that you've waited this long...

Hang in there. You'll get better.

that's what i'm afraid of. i'm so very very scared. i told only my sister, a radiologist, that i have this. didn't tell mom or my other sisters. my husband is in total denial and i think he has it too, but he attributes everything to old age and the fact that i'm a "hypochrondriac." even though i tested positive for igenex at 39 and 41 on the igg and negative for the igm.

my sisters reaction was "OMG, oh no, how long have you got?" she scared the crap out of me.

yep, i'm seeing a LLMD. i'm just concerned about he delay in treatment. can you tell me about your symptoms before you got in please??

A lot of doctors will prescribe four weeks of antibiotics. If possible, see your regular doctor, explain why you are certain that you have Lyme, and ask for enough antibiotics to get you to your appointment with your LLMD.

Take a copy of Dr. Burrascano's Treatment Guidelines with you in case the doctor is uncertain about what to give you and how much.

I think that most doctors treat initially with doxycycline.

I would be interested to know the name of the LLMD you will be seeing. If it is not too much trouble, please send me a private message.

Hi Geniveve--

If your infection was less
than a few weeks -
Time is of the essence--
Dont waste Any--
Early treatment of infection
has very good recovery rate--

Once you go over a month or
two this starts getting
much harder to cure--

If you have been sick for
several years it takes a long
time to get completely well--

I have both Lyme and Babs --

I saw the lyme Bullseye bruse
about 3 weeks before I started
getting sick--I did not know
what the bruse ment-I do now --

In about 5 weeks I definatly knew
something was wrong--For Sure--

So I went to my first doctor-
and I also started my edgucation
on the medical system--

After 18 yrs of being very sick
I found 2 doctors who would help
me --
Now 3 yrs later I feeling
perty good most of the time--

Read the newbee pages--
(towards top of the Posts)
Dr B is a good place to start-

Its writen in plainer english
so its easier to understand--

People do get well after
Having Lyme--Jay--

1 month isn't bad for getting in.

In Iowa, we do NOT have a full-time LLMD for adults or kids. We have some learning to be a LLMD, like mine. He sees ONE lyme patient per week, and 20 is his limit ... a 5 month wait!

Use this month to read & understand Dr. B's 05 lyme guidelines; print it...40 pages now.

Read other important things from TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS that relate to what you read in Dr. B's guidelines.

By the time you go & reading Dr. B daily, you are going to be so much more ahead of the rest of us who knew nothing including about this precious 24/7 support group board!

Symptoms are many...

Three-four months before treatment.
severe headache, teethpain, neck and eye pain, difficulty breathing, depression, confusion.
hands and feet were the last to hurt/burn.

My advice would be to go to any doc that will see you and get some abx (doxy 300mg/day is what I'm on). I am noticing some symptom relieve now after three weeks on abx.

Good luck and stay strong.
Best

My two cents...

If it were me, I would try to use this time to strengthen the immune system, rid myself of any yeast, metals, try to straighten out the stomach/gut problems, etc.

There are so many things you can use. Brief list:

garlic
probiotics
cat's claw
cilantro
chlorella
psyllium husks
magnesium
colostrum/other immune enhancers
MSM
Do a parasite cleanse with something like Paragone

Anyway, not only might you start feeling better using just some of this stuff, but you're also preparing your body for an onslaught of antibiotics, you know? Perhaps preventing any kind of serious herxing, etc.

My new doc thinks I have been living with this from when I was first diagnosed with CFS 14 years ago. Old doc just gave me anti-depressants and asked me to come back every month but did nothing to help. [Frown]

When doc had me fill out the questionnaire for lyme, I had to rate my symptoms.......said a 9-10 for all but 3 or so problems....out of about 60 symptoms. [Eek!]

I've had all of the suffering and only now am I being treated. Looks like a long haul for me...but I'm optomistic.
