Good grief. I don't want to do this diet!! I don't, I don't! However, I really feel like I need to.

Ive read the book The Yeast Connection. I know what I cant eat. Whats the best way to start on this diet without going into huge sugar cravings??

For health reasons, I can not cut out all carbs. Is it ok to use alternative grains such as Kamult, Spelt, etc? Again, I cant cut out all carbs-dr says no way.

Please help! I need more support on this than ever!!

Also, is there a specific test that my GI dr or LLMD can run for yeast?? Something that is pretty routine? I would need the name of the test so I could pass that info on to them.

I have used spelt noodles in the past but it was too high in carbs for me.

Some people do no grains and some people do without much problem.

I look for spouted grains & grains that are really high fiber content.

here is a site I order yeast free breads.I keep them in the frezzer and very occational have a piece of bread.

It takes a while to know what your body can handle.

I worked up to an occational yeast free bread.Ate chic,vegs & nuts for a while.Just go slow & maybe add one thing at a time and see how you do.That worked for me.

The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates is really good. I have the 6th addition but there are newer ones . Lots of receipes and ideas. Have you been checked for celiac desease? 1 more thing I found out I have. Makes a difference in diet.

I use ground flax, soy flour, or sugar free whey protein in the muffins I make. I haven't had sugar in nearly 3 years. I follow a low carb plan but focus the most on staying sugar free and avoiding processed crap.

Don't go no carb but make sure that your carbs are good carbs- veggies, sprouted grains, etc. Stay yeast and sugar free.

You can do it!

the diet is sheer hell, I totally agree but there is no other way to go. I did not touch sugar, coffee, carbs of any kind for 3 months and thought I was going to die of carb cravings.

That was 4 years ago, I did not touch sugar until just a few months ago and now after treatment for lyme (alternative) I can eat just a bit without having a hidious reaction.

But the strange thing is after doing without sugar for so long, I find I don't even like it anymore. Me, who used to kill for a homemade chocolate chip cookie and ate brown sugar out of the box when I was pregnant because I craved sugar so badly.

Life is weird, so is lyme disease.

I did the Yeast Connection diet for 2 days years ago (before lyme) and was amazed at how much my sinuses cleared up, but the diet really is mission impossible.

I'm not treating my lyme with antibiotics so I'm not having any yeast issues. I do try to eat mostly whole foods (foods that grew that way). I don't worry about carbs or proteins. I make sure my meat portions are small and my veggie and fruit portions are numerous throughout the day.

Since I am not on antibiotics, I can break diet sometimes and have pizza. Sweets are a part of my daily life and I really should work on that more since I read it feeds the 'ketes. Still though, I have no yeast problems at all.

I take probiotics every day. I have been over-antibioticed my entire life and yeast used to be a major issue for me. So I learned how to combat this long ago.

Since you probably are on antibiotics, I would take more probiotics than normally recommended. The bacteria you add back to your body is being killed off by the antibiotic and you are in a race to try to supply more than the antibiotic can kill. Altering your diet should certainly help you there, but your real battle is with the medications.

I read it many years ago and
I found Everything in it
to be correct---

Do what the book says exactly
and you will get over
candida-- Fast--

There are tons of good recipies
in that book--

After you have done the diet
carefully for awhile you will
you will see good results--

Your stomic wont hurt anymore
It will work better and you
will regain your normal weight--

Dont cheat on the diet at All--
if you do you will relaps
and loose ground each
and every time--No Doubt--

I had candida about as bad
as it gets --
Fallowing what the book
says got me well quickly--

I have told people here about
the book -but it seems like
no bodies listening--

Remember--
You have to Eat good
to be Good--Jay--

I just found a sugar substitue that tastes like sugar & NO after taste.I am so excited about it.
Xylitol

Some people get diharriha on more than 2 tsp a day .But I haven't.

It is actually good for you.I bought it at vitacost for $9 a pound.

I read a post here that said that it may actually help kill BB.

Thanks guys!! Well day 1, and I have already cheeted. I didn't realize just how horrible my sugar and carb cravings really, really are!! Im still trying though!!

I do have 3 kids. Its so tough to cook and not eat what they are eating! I refuse to put my family on this diet-they don't need it. Not to mention, most veggies really, really aggravate my GERD something awful!! All I can do is try this diet to the best of my ability and thats as good as it's gonna get right? I did look at the sites you posted too-thanks!!

I resisted this diet for a long time until I was getting sick to stomach and eneryless which motivated me to do the right thing, so to say.

I have gotton used to the yeast diet.

I fell off the wagon over Christmas, am slowly climbing back on.

I focus on meat, veggies and nuts.

Steak and mixed veggies is not bad. You can do raw veggies with dip.

Hang in there, when you realize how much better you feel, you will like it better.

I eat oatmeal; I am not sure that this is ok...
My sister-in-law is on a strict no sugars or simple carbs and they allow oatmeal.

Wheat upsets my stomach, so I avoid that.

Persevere, once you feel what its like to be rid of the yeast you will prefer being on the regimin.

I use just regular diet (but don't use much sugar); use Primal Defense powder on regular basis.
I have been on ABX for over a year.

I am improving and getting better.

I was on this diet and hated it badly. Later, I have discovered that it was not really necessary.
If my tongue get white I sometimes take some herbal antifungal such as Candida Stop until my tongue gets back to normal.

I love rice pasta.. I also eat millet, quinoa, oats, and spelt.....

Health food stores carry many itens that you can find in your grocery store only in healthier versions using these grains...
