I'm reading, I'm reading, and can't get enough of the weatlth of info here. Also, I am navigating with some difficulty through it all, so please forgive me for so many questions.
For the first time I recognize my visual symptoms as something else than aging. It sounds like I may have babesia, at the least.
Could anyone please let me know what they used for treating B& B?

Quick and dirty answer:
Babesia either: -Mepron and Zithromax (or another macrolide) -Malarone and Zithromax (or another macrolide) -Clindamycin and Quinine (not very well tolerated by most) --also add artamisinin (sweet wormwood) natural remedy to any of the above
Bartonella either:
-Either Cipro or Levaquin (quinalone) along with either Biaxin or Zithromax (Macrolide) -Rifampin alone has been used with good results.
Of course there's also the search option which I'm sure you'll check out when you get a chance.

Rifampin and ketek really helped me with bartonella, and some others have gotten well on levaquin. One sneaky way you can check out rifampin's effect is to buy a full month's worth, pour half a 300mg capsule into an empty gel capsule, and try half in the morning and half at night. All these antibiotics are brutal on the liver, so now's a good time to catch up on your obscure vitamin supplement catalogs. Don't just settle for milk thistle, try to add a "liver support" tier on your daily food pyramid and take at least four kinds of supplements daily.
The Lymenet Labs are working on the babesia issue as we speak, and hope to have an answer sometime soon. It's become evident that a lot of Lymenet people have been on mepron longterm, and are still relapsing the moment they go off it. Bart; 3 months and 3 weeks of 600mg rifampin, 500mg zithromax and 400mg doxycycline.
Usually people have either doxy or zith not both.
With zith I really think it was building up in my system. It's half life or how long half the dose stays in your body is over 2 days unlike other drugs which clear much sooner. I found I had to skip one half a dose one day every week and a half, then later once a week.
I haven't done a babs treatment but about everyone who has in my local group is on mepron and zith. Some have had very good luck with that and feel they've gotten rid of it. Others haven't.

I started taking Bactrim DS about a month ago--
Let me tell you that the Bactrim DS has Hammered the babs bugs into the ground--
I felt better in days-- The herx was the strongest and longest that any med has caused---
A plus also is bactrim is dirt cheap---
Artemisinin is very Important also to take with Any Babs meds--
Read up on it there has been alot of news about it in the last week or so---
Look for a post here titled something like -- WHO new guide lines for Artenisinin-- it was posted in the last few days-- (WHO=World Health Organisation)
