Does anyone know what percent of people who test postive for Lyme also test positive for one of the other common coinfections? My impression is that it isn't very many who do. Any studies? Info? Thanks.

Hi,

I've posted a study on this forum a couple of times where ticks were collected and tested for Ehrlichia (one of the coinfections) and Bb. It was about 1/3 of the ticks collected that were infected with both. There were some that did not carry Bb but only Ehrlichia. Here's the link:

There was a study in New Jersey that was similar except they were looking for Bartonella. The rate was much higher there for Bart. Can't remember the numbers. Here, found the article:

I'd say as a rough guess that at least 1/3 and probably more of the people with Bb have another tick born disease. I personally have 5 plus Bb.
