I've had eczema all of my life. It comes and goes. I've been under a lot of stress lately and it has flared up on my arms again.

I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed a topical corticosteroid. I know that this medicine can and probably will be absorbed into my bloodstream. I've read that steriods are bad for Lyme. Should I use this cream?

Thanks,

Cinder

Cinder,

For my LYME rash, I found NO ointments were helpful nor long-lasting; itched like crazy.

My son uses Triamcinolone ointment or cream. His LLMD knows he uses it.

I have used topical steroids for other indications and have found them safe. The amount absorbed is not considered enough to cause harm to you general immune system.

There have been other threads about this. Please use the search option and see what you can find out.

good luck!

I would look into natural remedies for eczema, and not use steroids. They still get absorbed into your system, a big no-no for Lyme patients.

I use this homeopathic remedy and it works great! I purchase it at my local HFS but here is a link to an online store and it is actually cheeper online by about 2 bucks and I THINK free shipping:

I did some research on this recently because my 5 year old grandson has it on his cheeks. Creams did not help. It needs to be treated internally and this is what is working for him.

acidophylus (sp)
Silica homeopathy

Purchased from health food store.

I found some very interesting sites on this, let me know if you want me to post them.
