.....will you be prescribed abx either oral or IV?

I finished IV Rocephin in January. Doctor wants me to be tested with a another IGg and IGm western blot through Igenex again in 45 days. I still have symptoms that did not go away.

My understanding is that you need to continue with oral or IV abx until you are symptom free.

Have you explored the possiblity of co-infections?

I once had a LLMD that tested and retested.

I would NOT waste my money this way again.

The tests are almost useless, more for insurance and data recording and to use in the future when scientist are able to really create tests that can definitively diagnose current infection.

You should be treating Lyme if it is still presenting symptomwise, no matter what the tests say.

Oral or ABX would depend on what the symptoms are and what your insurance or wallet will allow.

I was tested for babesia in August 05 by MDL and it was negative.

Don't place so much confidence in these tests. For example, Babesia tests look for 2 out of about 17 known types. What are the odds of a positive test even if you have it? Not good....

You should also be tested for Bartonella and Ehrlichia.

Consider options that will address all co-infections - I am using Dr. K's microcurrent device.

I also tested via EAV for Babesia though the blood test was neg and that was enough for my LLMD to provide treatment.

Borrelia Burgdorferi (which is all the WB shows) is only one piece of the puzzle. Are you detoxing? Have you removed all mercury amalgams and addressed heavy metals? Tested for mycoplasma? There are so many different things that have to be looked at - Bb is just one of them.

Hi Coach!

Congratulations on getting off your IV.

Bet you were happy to get in the shower apparatus-free, huh? I sure was!

Most LLMD's follow up IV treatment with orals.

Then you stay on em till your symptoms are gone. With a 2-3 month period of symptom-free and feeling good thrown in for good measure.

NOT till you test negative.

It sounds like your doc is trying to do the right thing, i.e., using IGeneX to test you... Giving you IV treatment, etc. However, he is missing the mark if he's stopping antibiotics when you are still having problems.

I know you don't want to do this all over again, do you? :-)

That's why seeing an LLMD is so important. An LLMD would never do something like this, which would throw you right back to where you started.

I was ready recently to proclaim myself cured because I had about 6 weeks of feeling pretty good. No headaches! I saw my LLMD and in what I thought was a sneaky fashion broached the subject, "Can I stop now, can I stop now, please please please?"

He said, "Well, you can if you really want to. But I am pretty sure we will see you again in about 4 to 8 weeks."

Sure enough, I wasn't finished at all, and my headaches returned with a vengeance in short order.

Please don't NOT do this right the first time. We don't want you to have to do it again!!
