Hi all, I'm about to end my initial 6 week Rocephin IV next week and will likely go on orals once the picc is out.
I'm training my doc in the best treatment and have learned so much from this board that I can share with her. I'd like to identify which orals do the majority better than others.
Poll is, for Rocephin IV users, what orals did you followup with that worked the best? (I realize everybody is different and everyone reacts differtly to different abx's).
Just wanted to see how the abx's score as doing the most good as a next step in treatment?

Hi I had neuro lyme and was bedridden for 6 weeks, heart skipped, pressure in head etc, etc,etc, thought I was dead for sure twice.
After three days on Doxy 400mg/day improved noticably, was then finally dxed. Got IV Rocephin 2G/day for 8 1/2 weeks. The last week of IV felt so good I didn't want to stop treatment! Maybe 90% of normal-- Wow!!!! thought I was "cured" and started Amoxy 500mg/day. After 3 months noticed myself relapsing, so switched to Doxy 500mg/day which may have helped slightly. after 1 month Doxy then went to Ketek 800mg/day plus Amoxy 5gm/day.
Felt definite improvement after 2-3 weeks and am still on that combo now. It's hard to remember but I think right at end of IV I felt better than I do now after 6 months oral abx.....
I may need to add a cyst buster soon if I don't keep improving or I can always go back on IV.
