I went for a walk on Wednesday probably a little less than a mile. I felt good walking but since then I've had a knot in my right calf. It's actually even a little painly to touch. Yesterday I even noticed that the pain in both my legs was a bit worse. I had to take Aleve which did help a bit.
Anyone else experience this knot like feeling in their calves? I've had it before and I know it will work itself out in time. Is this from lyme disease?
Just trying to get a little exercise.

I have a knot in my right calf, too. It feels like a charlie-horse just waiting to happen. It has been there for a couple of months. Unlike you, I had to curtail my usual 2 -4 walks a week becaue of back problems, so thought maybe it was lack of walking that has caused it.
Maybe it is a Lyme thing.... maybe others will have input.

Yes. It's like an "almost cramp" but fortunately it doesn't go into the full cramp. I didn't have it before all of my lyme symptoms started.

Hi Ticked,
Try to do some stretching before and after you go for your walk. Increase your water intact and check your cal mag levels...they may be off.

YES! Hi there fellow knotters!
Almost cramp is perfect description.
I get real charlie horses, but this is just one the verge, not a full blown one.
Glad I am not the only one.
Been trying to SLOWLY and gently stretch it and also HOT HOT HOT long long long soaks. Trails

I woke up this morning with a charley horse lovely knot in my rt. calf. Woke me from a sound sleep and feel to the floor screaming.(not to be a drama queen, but this really happened.)
What works was massaging it till it relaxed. It just feels now like someone wacked it with a baseball bat.
Another daily wake up from mr. lyme.It did get me out of bed though Posted by tequeslady (Member # 6832) on :
I by no means think this is all of it, but some of this is probably caused by us being laid up for so long. Especially after a long walk, you probably need to stretch.
I use a stretching book I had before all this lyme crap. It's the best I've ever found.
but mine came from NOWHERE. I mean, I have done the LEAST amount of walking in years in the past few days. Barely can make it around the house.
And still the knot started yesterday. Posted by mbroderick (Member # 5220) on :
I have what feels like a knot or charley horse almost all of the time in my right foot. If I have a day that I'm having to walk a lot more, the pain definately increases! Any additional excercise or walking makes it worse, for sure. This is a really unfortunate situation, because I'm a teacher and must be on my feet almost all day!
