I guess I didn't put it right, I know all the terms...I just meant it should be written 'twice a day' or '2X daily' and skip the doctorese (and/or lawyerese) language.

using that kind of obfuscative shorthand crap just seems to me a way to try to put certain trades on a pseudo exalted plane.

Just my cynical 2 cents worth.

actually I'm in a bit of a rotten mood which is uncharacteristic of me (something totally unrelated to lyme),so if my post sounds snarly I don't mean it to...

I'll stay off of here till tomorrow when things will be looking up.

My question was answered and more.

Now out treatment plan is making more sense!

I did not know bid meant twice a day.
Other rx given for same person on same day had 3x a day written out.

There is so much to learn!

I am desparate enough to know that no question is a dumb question. (or that it is you all will cut my foggy brain some slack)

Thanks,

Char

BID means twice a day... Latin for something like bis en dieum ( remember carpe dieum; seize the day t-shirts).

Medicine in ancient and dark ages, the language was Latin, so most medical abbreviations have carried to this day as such.

Now, this is all fine and good to take it twice a day; however, try to consistant with your times such as 8am and 8pm, etc. 9am, 9 pm,( you get it.)

Taking it a regular interval , will keep the medication levels in your body consistant.

Also, follow dr. or labels instructions carefully- with or without food, etc. Drink plenty of water, etc. Each medication is different.

I would check with your doctor or pharmacist, too if you are taking CSM or other medications or herbals, so you don't have any drug interference or cancel out effects. You may have to spread out your meds during the day.

Last, but not least, if you see these instructions on your prescription , tell Dr or pharmacist mmediately so it is written in English, not Latin. This will avoid confusion.
