Instead of hijacking the thread on peanut butter cravings and body craving things we need.,...

I also do wonder if foods we feel an aversion to are things we should avoid???

I have been on low-carb for the better part of 15 years. However, in the last 6 months, I have a real aversion to any meat. I can't stand it, and had to stop the extreme low carb as a result.

I now try to do low-GI instead, and have whole grains/brown rice, wholewheat pasta, etc.....and a bit of meat, but the meat I have to FORCE down.

Liver,

Since being dx with Lyme and starting treatment, I've developed a complete aversion to fish. It's something I always loved in the past.

In my case, I think the explanation is pretty simple: I have a lot of sensory distortion now -- especially olfactory. The smell of fish is what puts me off.

With other foods, I found myself craving foods that weren't in my diet regularly. Even without realizing I was doing it, I started shopping at a natural foods store.

I also began craving a lot of whole grains, even more greens. Salads started NOT tasting as good (too cold), but cooked greens are the best.

Interesting topic.

hey don't

I can't stand the smell of toast. Don't want to look at it and specially don't want to smell it cooking or burning. Wierd right?

Maybe till your body gets over the meat thing you could substitute meat for SF whey protien drinks.?

Take care
p.s. Nothing to do with your name but the same apply's to liver.

meat is NOT good for you. going vegan is one of the best things i have ever done for myself in my life and for my health. theres plenty of carbs, protien and everything you need in veggies. we were not designed to eat meat. there are many vegan doctors who believe this, and show why. dr lorraine day is one of them.
i never liked meat but was brainwashed into thinking i needed it, and was forced to eat it as a child even when it made me gag. it was easy for me to go vegan. even before i did i was having a hard time eating meat and really disliking it. now i have learned there are so many benefits to being vegan and eating raw organic food.
