I was prescribed a beta blocker (low dose 5mgs) for palpitations and a racing heart (happens sometimes) I also tested positive on the IGENEX WB (IGG). I have had lyme 2 times (1994 and 2000) and was treated with IV ROcephin. To this day I have the wooziness, tinnitus, palps, lethargy etc and thank goodness this latest test was positive so I can get some abx. My dr. prescribed 3000 mgs of amoxicillin but right now I have stopped because of the beta blocker. I do not want to take sucha high dose with this beta blocker even thought the literature did not say not to take abx. Any one have any ideas if it is safe.. I am planning on calling dr and speaking to pharmacist about this too.

Hey Mispyi
Could you post the abx you are on and I will look it up in prescription books.
I was prescribed beta blockers once for lyme PVC'S and found alot of cross references to mixing many od my meds.
You should call Your LLD and ask about EACH drug you are on.
Take care

Yes, you can take a beta blocker and abx. I did. But, be forewarned that as your BP drops, which often happens while on abx, the BB might intensify the feeling of calm. I actually passed out a couple of times and eventually was taken off the BB. Have you BP monitored often.
