Hello everyone! Just wondering if anyone has had a significant amount of weight lost with their Lyme. I just went to the LLMD today and I lost another 6 lbs in a month's time. Before I got sick w/ Lyme, I was 210 lbs. Now I am only 154. What do you think or what can I do to combat the weight loss??? Happy St. Patty's day to all!!

Duane,

Like you and cant, I also lost weight when I first started treatment. For me, it was about 25 pounds, and at that point, things leveled off.

I haven't gained or lost any weight in the past 8 months.

Hopefully, your weight loss will also plateau at some point.

Wow -- you guys are welcome to some of mine! I've *gained* 35 lbs (on a small frame) in the last year since having a relapse..... no change in eating habits at all...

Our muscles are "heavy". That's why if we go on a diet and do weight lifting at the same time, we might change "shape", but our weight doesn't go down as fast.

Now...when muscles are "wasted" we lose weight.

Muscle wasting is an indication of a protein problem.

The amino acids are protein building blocks.

Think about a "complete" amino acid supp.

(My sis, with lyme, had to supp. this too at one point.)

Hi Dsiple,
Bumping this up! Weight loss was, and has been one of my primary issues since being sick too. I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks when the lyme cr@p hit the proverbial fan. It leveled out abit...then dropped another 10 pounds..leveled off and now trying to stay stable again.

I went from size 14 to now an 8....alot of my issues are GI related and have been working with a great ND in resolving some of these things.

I know our new diet changes (less sugar, carbs, "white" foods) modify our bodies somewhat...and I know for me, eating (craving..) more protein changes things around. Without some carbs to balance out the proteins, I know the body goes into a different metobolism mode...and doesn't make the right fats the system needs.

I've had an amino acid profile done, and it showed alot of low markers...plus, it said I was deficient in protein..and low in blood sugar, though I eat mostly protein and vegs.

Anyway, I'm hoping we all find answers...some lose...some gain, some sleep too much, some not nearly at all (again me...). Not sure if this was any help for you, just wanted you to know you weren't alone in this symptom.

Wishing you health and healing,
JavaBeing
