My doctor sent me lab work rx to have done before my appt in April. This is what he wants:
C3,C4;CH50;ANA;Rheumatoid factor;
Sed Rate; EBV- IgG& IgM;CMV-IgGand

IgM; T3;T4;TSH;Alk Phos;SGPT;
SCOT;Creatinine (serum);GGTP;

Potassium (K); Sodium (NA); Urea Nitrogen (BUN); Uric Acid;CBC

Does this sound alright?

Then at my first appt they will draw for:
Inital lyme panel-Western Blot IgG, Western Blot IgM, Lyme PCR-Serum

Regional Co-Infection Panel-MID-WESTERN REGIONAL PANEL-Babesia IgG & IgM, Babesia FISH, HGE IgG & IgM, Bartonella IgG & IgM.

Did they leave anything out that I should ask for? Any information would be very helpful to me as I have no idea what to ask for.

Kim [confused]

Sounds pretty thorough to me! And they haven't even SEEN you yet!

Welcome, YikesPanic! Don't panic! Sounds like you're going to be in good hands. Testing for co-infections is great -- not all docs do that.

Good luck and hang in there!

Sounds OK to me! Keep in mind that even if the co-infection testing comes back negative, you could still have some of them....especially babesia, which is notorious for coming back negative when the patient actually has it.

Let us know how your first apptm goes, OK?! [Smile]

Babesia is parasites within red blood cells. Why you cannot see them under microscoy if they are there?

Blood smear microscopy should be the top test for red blood cell parasites like testing Malaria.

But why not Babesia?

Any body has a thought?

Thanks, I am so nervous about waiting. Thanks for all your replys. I'll post after I see Dr at the end of April.
