I was just curious.....

because over the years I have been visiting the board

I know of at least a few people who have issues like mine...

I have -

gastrparesis - controlled by meds and diet

IBS - controlled by med

although the IBS was thought to be caused by the pain meds I took to cope with the lyme pain

Best Wishes [Smile]

I have had digestive problems since I was a baby, so I don't attribute it to lyme.

One of my worst symptoms for the past several years has been nausea and IBS. My LLMD, who also noticed and started treating my low thyroid (which my regular doc missed), ran a three-part test for H. Pylori.

Turns out I tested positive for a rare type of H. Pylori, and have probably had it for years.

My regular doc ran a standard H. Pylori test two years ago, which of course came back negative. Because it never occurred to her to look any deeper, I now have a full blown ulcer, which I must treat before I start on antibiotics for Lyme and Babesia.

Makes me very cranky.

I have a sort of motility disorder where I get constipated. It is like it wont MOVE in my intestines.

It caused from adhesions due to endometriosis, but I also know that it flares and gets worse when I am having Lyme symptoms worsen. I believe there is a connection.

My issues started May 79 when I had my gallbladder removed leaving:

irritable bowel/bladder syndrome,
gas...too bad I can't bottle it! LOL [Big Grin]
constipation, etc.

stomach always churning

I have Celiac disease, controlled by a gluten free diet. But, I am still very sensitive to somefoods and meds.

I have always been that way, but it is worse on antibiotics. Zithromax has me rolling around on the floor. The dogs think I am insane!

In my near future I may also be looking at an esophageal dialation.

I have GERD, gastritis, constipation, gas, etc. Its enough to make me very depressed. Nothing seems to help all that much either.

I'm gluten intolerant since before lyme, maybe 8 years. I believe this is the underlying condition that ran my immune system down, because of malabsorbtion, preventing my body from helping itself until recently.

Add me. Leaky Gut (and numerous new onset food allergies) after abx treatment and prolonged use of NSAIDs.

Wish I knew what caused what.... candida causing leaky gut? I did not take enough of the right probiotics and did not do a low carb and no sugar diet while on abx.

It is so discouraging....

I suffered with diverticulitis from 1978 until the 80's or 90's, when unbeknownst to me and my duck it turned into Colitis. I had my colon removed so was cured.

THIS was before my Lyme D.

I was treated for Lyme in 2000. But it came back as most of you know.

IT got super bad last year so that by fall I thought I would die.

Then in early NOvember of 2005 my stomach started hurting and lots of nausea.

I started herbs and had to go slow because of the Nausea. But it got a little better, but not cured, then I started abx and it got much worse. For about two more months.

THen I got C-Salts, quit abx and my stomach is MUCH better today. Very few problems with it anymore. I am on herbs pretty heavy now, except last week when I had to fast because of burned skin below the stoma which I need to heal. But hated to quit the herbs.

Started back on herbs, very slow again, day before yesterday. But the pain in the back of my left knee tendons came back and got much worse today, so today I started ramping up FAST on the herbs. Hope it is better tomorrow. That pain had been gone since last November. It was one of my major symptoms.

Always something. We all have our stake to bear, I guess.

I HAVE:

I have had the hiatal hernia and gastritis for probably over 30 years. BUT long before Lyme, unless I had lyme then and didn't know it.

I have been able to live with it though. COuld not eat before bedtime though or had big time troubles when I laid down.

Not fun to be sure.

I have a Hiatal Hernia, GERD, adhesions-pockets on intestines (can't remember what they called it). I had a stomach scope done and they found lesions and inflammation.

I take Protonix and Carafate which helps.

Hi, Sorry for all that suffer as I do
24/7 nausea, like being on constant chemo.

It is waring.
I also have pain 24/7 Used to think that was enough along with all the many symptoms.

It happened after mosquito bite, think WNV/ also got encephalitis with.
After that nausea non stop, no appetite,
on meds for.

Also have hiatal, have on reg. basis esophageal repair may have to have tube put in they said after last test.

Am so exhausted from pain & nausea 24/7

Think last bite triggered another Lyme co-infection, window of opportunity set in.
Maybe erichliosis.

No 1 will treat me Ins. will not cover no real income. Live on my own with no fam. close.
Stuck...

If you suffer from nausea 24/7 it is hard to explain to others, except think of want to puke all the time but can`t. OK, have emesis, lol

I am sorry for all you who do, plus won`t even go into the constipation what that takes out of you alone. UGH... Whole nother topic.
Even eating alot of fiber, probiotics, mag. tabs.
Tried is all.

Nausea meds give me maybe hr. to shove food down, & high cal.vit. shakes

[group hug] To all in need, Kerry
