I'm obviously not GIGI but years ago an accupuncturist commented about my tongue scallops. She said they were the worst she had ever seen and that it is an indication of energy level. She said I must be very fatigued based on the scallops.
This source says that it is a sign of malabsorption.
http://www.everydayayurveda.org/tiptung.html "Scallops... These look like indentations of teeth along the edges of your tongue. These are signs of malabsorption. So, although you may be eating healthfully, your body is not able to fully utilize those nutrients."
This states a hypothesis that the scallops indicate that the tongue is too big for the mouth. "A second hypothesis is that a scalloped lateral border of the tongue indicates the tongue is too large for the size of the oral cavity and that these scallops are a mirror image of the bicuspids and molars. Because of this overcrowding, the tongue is pushed posterior, creating an apneic event." http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/Articles.ASP?articleid=S0110D05
I do have sleep apnea. Maybe digestive problems cause the tongue to swell?
Hopefully GiGi will have some answers. It is something I've wondered about too.
