My LLMD recommended a magnetic mattress pad that you put under the top mattress. Has anyone tried this? What were the results?
The brand he recommended was from www.magnetico.com. I guess the idea is that we are surrounded with so much positive magnetic fields from cell phones, t.v., microwaves etc. that this negative magnets balance the body.
I have noticed that putting a EMF dioide in my pocket has helped when I am at the computer or making a long drive. I do not get so tired or get so many seizures.
Always something new and different to discuss!!

hello hiker... i haved used many magnet items over the last 8 years or so..the company is Nikken.. Had a mattress pad and used it for years,but after lyme I found it too hard on my body.. i do still wear magnet insoles in my shoes and when i pull my back out,i put a large on the sorest spot..also have used bracelets... I do think they give me relief at times..the Nikken products are expensive,bit they are made very well. good luck hiker..... i wish i had a dollar for all the things i have tried...wow!

I'm a fan of Nikken magnetic products too. I have the shoe inserts and a round disk that can be applied where needed.
The shoe inserts were very helpful (before lyme) but eventually I had to get orthotics as I am very flat-footed.
When the lyme arthritis started, I tried the magnets both on my swollen feet and the disc on my swollen wrist but it did not help and seemed to actually make things a little worse.
The magnets supposedly draw blood to the area which with swilling already, just made the pain more intense.
I've never slept on the mattress.

I have the magnetic insoles, recommended years ago by a friend who had me try his patch for back pain. It worked so well that I got the inserts when I began to have severe neuropathy in feet and calves. I believe the help is sometimes quite subtle -- maybe more energy than pain relief -- but I'd recommend them. My physical therapist says he's also heard good things. I also got them from Nikken.
Back several years ago the local distributors also allowed me to take the mattress pad home and sample it for a couple of days. After the second night I chickened out and gave it back to them -- I was so ill, I felt I was going back in time to when I had the CFIDS on top of the Lyme. Felt desperately toxic. Knew I was probably herxing from the toxins but as I said I chickened out. Yet I've heard from people who said they never felt better and hated to get out of bed. (People who also have CFIDS and/or Lyme.)

A Nikken distributor loaned me a mattress pad for a month many years ago. I never felt any difference. [good thing I didn't buy it!]
Dr C says this mattress is alot better than Nikken's. [he doesn't sell them] I don't know. Sure wish you could get a money-back guarantee.
