After the Hope to Heal Lyme conference this weekend (which was excellent), I have the strong feeling that my 13 year old son has Bartonella and needs to be treated for this.

Does anyone have feedback on what treatment worked for them to cure Bartonella?

Many thanks!

Just curios what symptoms he has made you think he has Bart.?

I have pains of hands, soles and buttocks or legs which touch the seat when driving.

I also have consistant palpitation and cheast uncomfortables over the heart.

I also have kind of air hunger or upset of stomach or dry cough, cannot tell for sure.

Somebody here thought that sole pain is a clasical sign of Bart.

Dave,

The air hunger dry cough thing sounds more like babesia.

You could have both bart and babs.

I have Bart, just dx in December (6 months after being on abx for Lyme).

My symptoms at the time were:
facial numbness
a feeling of tight banding around my lower legs
stuttering
creepy-crawlies on my forehead
a screaming headache in the back of my head

I'm taking rifampin in addition to the ceftin, and it seems to be helping.

Do a search on Bartonella in this site, you'll pull up some articles and discussions. My daughter is primarily Bartonella and mycoplasma which can cause the shortness of breath.

She was diagnosed in January and has been on Zythromax. I understand Rifampin and Ketek can be used.

My daughter has all the classic fibromyalgia symptoms, but she mostly has ghastly headaches, extremity pain, sensitive skin...weight gain..oh, it goes on. The one thing that has cleared up is her eyes. She had terrible dry eyes and conjunctivitis. Using fewer drops now.

Hey, we count the small improvements!

Kelly
