For awhile I was losing my eyelashes and eyebrows.

The hair on my head did not thin though.

I lost all of my bottom eyelashes. and my upper were really thin.

That has since stopped and they grew back fine.

I was on cefzil and ketek when this happened.

For me I think it was just the lyme becuase I had been taking the meds for awhile with no problems.

And the only stress I have is dealing with the illness itself.

(I dont know the side effects of doxy. Maybe call the pharmacist just to double check. My pharmasist is very friendly)

Best wishes [Smile]

I of course am no doctor but I wonder if your LLMD has checked your thyroid levels? I had the same problem along with unexplained weight gain and it turned out I had lyme-induced (or so my LLMD and I think) hypo thyroidism. Armour thyroid has helped me tremendously. If this hasn't been addressed, it may be worth checking out. It seems lyme can mess with many of your hormone levels including thyroid.

Since taking Armour thyroid, I have stopped losing my hair at the hairline and eyebrows, and also lost the 16 lbs I had gained for no obvious reason. So yeah, I am happy! Good luck!

they checked my thyroid more than once .Dr. thought I was hyperthyroid because my heart was racing. This illness has caused tremedous stress to my body. Its my first relapse and it hit with menopause, and I really thought I was dying.Every symptom came back with a bang. Now that my anxiety level and sleep are better I wonder if STRESS caused the thinning of hair. Its actually the least of my issues right now.

My hair started thinning radically for about a year before I was dx with Lyme.

My thyroid level was checked by two duck docs, and while I was tested slightly hypothyroid, they said it was so slight I didn't need medicaitons.

Meantime, of course, the Lyme was beginning to rage, and I didn't realize it. I was getting increasingly more exhausted.

Once I started abx treatment (ceftin) my energy slowly started returning AND my hair quit falling out. I think it took about 5 molnths before I saw a difference, but now, it's actually getting full again.

Several friends commented on this when I saw them this weekend.

You said in one post you were 90% better with treatment.

I have NO medical expereince....

but in my opinion you should have been 100% better for at least a few months before stopping treatment.

If you don't conquer it, it can come roaring back at anytime.

azure that 90% progress was 13 years ago . I have had symptoms wax and wane over the years. Some times I was 100% symptom free for a long time. Other days were not as good. I was able to do everything I wanted to. I forget and was grateful till 5 mths ago my symptoms started to creep back with menopause.
