I just returned my shipment of these 82 bucks! I kept the probiotic but felt that I would rather create my own assortment of vitamins.

Six pills a day!!!

Never took them--my LLMD discourages vitamins but I take 2 childrens chewables a day, plus lecithin, and Vit B...will be adding magnesium.

Good luck!

I used to take a packet a day. It was alot of pills. I'm sure they are excellent pills. I'm still getting better.

I have switched to the vitamin shoppe heavy duty multi which also seems to be good quality. It's much more economical.

Maybe no one else here takes them?

My sis took 2 packets per day for years. Dr.B's guidelines years ago (now too?) used to recommend this particular multi supp.

In addition to nonstop abx. (all, including IV) for 3 years, she took a ton, I repeat, a TON of nutritional supplements. Her kitchen counter was lined with pill bottles.

Cured? Don't know for certain. Never had any follow up testing. I've suggested, but she hasn't...But...she continues to have inflammation, osteoporosis, etc. and dx'd "autoimmune"now.

She never had "brain fog" and only briefly had a yeast problem. I think the supps. esp. helped her in those respects.

Is the infection gone and the body is simply still low on several critical nutrients?

Theoretically speaking the infection SHOULD be gone...esp. considering the fact that she did have IV Rocephin and was on more than one "round" of Tinidazole, Mepron with Azith.,etc.

Nutrient deficiencies ALONE can indeed cause horrible "symptoms". It takes a LONG time to restore the nutrients once they have been depleted. And it is tricky!

(She is the one with lyme, not me...I do the research. She was misdx'd initially and given steroids...NOT good.)

Yes, Pharmanex vits are expensive.

The only POSSIBLE "downside" to Pharmanex that I see is the fact that they contain ginkgo.

For VERY complicated reasons...neurotransmitter wise...this could be "too much" FOR SOME PEOPLE. For others, it may indeed be helpful.

Ginkgo (alone), years ago...triggered a near seizure in my son.

Research HOW ginkgo works and you might begin to understand.

And, yes, I have emailed Pharmanex and asked them to take it out of their otherwise very good multiple.

IMO...gotta be careful of the herbs..."respect" them...be knowledgeable of HOW they work. They are very powerful.

All the herbs are powerful...it is well known and "accepted" that simply cinnamon can HELP to reduce our blood sugar levels! Quite amazing!

What's even more amazing...is consider how cinnamon is often combined with...SUGAR!

The supp. companies are not "regulated" so we really don't know if the dosages are "truthful" or not...lots of controversy about the #s of beneficial bacteria actually IN the various probiotics as "claimed" by various companies, for example.

Price does not always equate to quality. Carlsons, Metagenics, NOW, Source Naturals, and Pharmanex DO seem to be "reputable" companies making supplements.

Since the antibiotics deplete various nutrients AND the infection does too...I do believe it is wise to try to keep the level of the nutrients up as much as possible.

Hopefully, then this nutritional imbalance will not spiral down further/faster and trigger additional problems. For example...trigger late onset diabetes, the "storage" of aluminum, etc.

Most important...the probiotics. We can't ABSORB or MAKE ANY nutrients if the "good bacteria" are missing/numbers down. Healing starts in the "gut". Be sure to take probiotics with a full glass of water (to dilute the very acidic stomach) one hour before a meal...ongoing.

Ideally we would get all the nutrients we need from eating very healthy foods and drinking very healthy beverages, but...

Yea...I live in the "real world" too.

We all do our best ;-)

Have you tried Juice plus?

WOW! marnie...i read the whole thing and understood it!!! i usually can't understand what you write-altho i appreciate and respect what you do for us. i copy and paste a lot of it for later when my brain starts to work again.

i didn't know about the ginko-so i learned that from you.

i started a number of things dr b recommends...one at a time...a week apart...the multi didn't seem to do anything for me

i'm not sure about the lipoic acid with the coq10...it might be doing a lot of good that i don't feel

but when i started the acetyl-L-carnitine with the SAMe i noticed a big change. i got them from NOW

i have been using NOW for a long time now, and i really see a difference with their products.

anyway-thanks marnie-for this and all you do.
