Is anyone on a special diet. For Lyme my doctor recommends meet and vegatables and that is it. What is your diet if any?

By the way, I am not overweight she is asking me to do this diet to boost my immune system and to control yeast while on antibiotics.

She is right. Sugars and simple starches feed the yeast.

I developed leaky gut and am having a heck of a time getting rid of the yeast and parasites now in my blood system. Systemic yeast can be deadly.

Definitely a GOOD IDEA. You will regret it if you allow yeast to get the upper hand. Once it happens, you will have a tough time getting it under control again.

No Wheat, No Gluten, little sugar, no soft drinks, no coffee, no milk. Not a fun diet, but it helps.

Diet is definitely important. Hubby's diet -- no gluten, no dairy except yogurt, no sugar, high protein/low carb with small amounts of fruit, and for neurolyme symptoms add no caffeine and no artificial sweeteners plus no MSG.

P.S. Stevia works well as a sweetener.

Yup, me too! No gluten, dairy, sugar or caffeine. I can have as much meat proteina and veggies as I want. Realy stinks but I think it helps. [Smile]

Candida diet, like many others have stated. No wheat, no sugar (including white, honey, artificial, cane juice, etc.), no vinegar, no mushrooms, no fruit juices, specific fruits only in low amounts, no dairy except organic yogurt.

So what do I eat:
Organic, unprocessed foods as much as possible. Fish, chicken, turkey. Lots of veggies. Apples, pears, berries, lemon (in small quantities). Whole grains, beans. Nuts.

I love what I eat, and really enjoy it. I was already eating a good diet, and feel even better, esp. off the wheat and sugar.

I found a lot of contradictory info in books and on the internet. This website helped me to have a list of foods good to eat, not good, and intermediate. http://www.wholeapproach.com/diet/

I lost a lot of weight for me when I started the diet, I was already slender when I started. So I'm down to the lowest weight I ever want to go to...105 at 5'5".

I take that into consideration when I eat. If I had to stop eating all complex carbohydrates I would fade away and fall over. So common sense is a factor as well.

Best wishes,
Hopeful4
