I've read a bunch of posts of doing cycles of Mepron/Zith...3 weeks on and 1 week off. I understand this is for liver detox. My doc has me with no time off and I'm a little concern. What do most of you do? Also what are some recommendations for liver detox while on mepron. I read to not take CO-Q10...anything else I should be aware of?

You just have to take milk thistle and get a CBC done every three weeks as usual.
I try to take my milk thistle as far apart from the mepron doses as possible incase it hinders absorption (don't know if it does tho).
With this combo (zith + Mepron) you should be on Artemesia x 3 daily also to prevent the bugs becoming resistant.
also why the week off? Dr B does not do that as the Babs can become resistant,

Hi,
It seems that in earlier days, people took time off during a Mepron run. That seems to no longer be the case. I took Mepron/Zith for 6 months straight with no liver problems. I also took milk thistle.
Many people have taken it longer than six months without a break and they didn't have problems either.

I just started Mepron but my LLMD didn't mention taking a break. I have a phone consult in 3 weeks and then a visit in June. It sounded like I would be taking it for at least 3 months straight unless something changed out of the ordinary before that time.
I hadn't been told to take the milk thistle away from it. I had only been told to take it with something with fat in it to help it absorb.
Isn't it kind of icky? Kind of like drinking sickly sweet tempura paint.

Information was posted on here a month or so ago saying that Milk Thistle interfers with absorption of Mepron. My daughter and I had been taking our Milk Thistle religiously, and we stopped after reading that.
She is getting ready to switch from Mepron to Malarone. Does anyone know if Milk Thistle interacts with Malarone? I'll try to find the old post.
