Someone posted a very good link of a lyme booklet with 42 pages of symptoms, and when i started reading it, i noticed it had mentioned the malar rash, consistent with Lupus SLE.

I do not have the traditional butterfly rash but my cheeks on the sides of my nose tend to be sort of red at times and the pores of my skin i could see.

i tested negative for all lupus antibody tests, but after reading this, it makes me believe even more so that i have lyme. i never knew lyme caused such a rash.

also i have drier skin than i ever had. its patchy with raised bumps, sort of shiny even. it looks like dried elmers glue. no discoloration though.

does anyone else have a redness like that to the cheeks?

Hi Pru,

Yes I get the red rash/flushing on my cheecks, have for several years. It comes and goes.

Sometimes its accompanied by a warm flushed feeling other times not. Have been tested for Lupus three times over the past eight years because of the rash/flushing always negative. Its the Lyme.

People always say, "someone got some sun this weekend" I haven't but I look at it like a year round sunburn.

I don't get any of the white patches you mentioned though. Good luck

My husband has that with his rocesea. The sun burn look, the dried glue look to the skin, (he picks at it & drives me bonkers cause makes it look worse). All he has to do is take tretracyline for two days and it's gone.

My LLMD said that lyme can aggrevate rocesea. He also said he's seen rocesea type skin problems with lyme.
