Hello all... thank you for providing such a wonderful and useful forum. It is going to take time... but all of us will reach a full recovery.
Besides the normal lyme symptoms, (blurry dim vision, headaches, aches and pains) I have 3 INCREDIBLY odd symptoms, I just hope someone can relate, and maybe had some good results.
1. Regardless of how little or much I eat I never feel hungry, and never feel full... almost as if I am just eating out of habit, and my body is not getting signals to stop.
2. The right side of my body is colder then my left side, most noticably my right hand and right foot.
3. I cannot tell whether a room is warm or cold... it just feels like warm or cold brisk winds... just does not make any sense. I can be under 4 blankets, and still feel no change... the only way i can if I am hot is if I start sweating.
Thanks so much in advance, I know these sound whacky, but I am at a loss, and have been through every test imaginable, with thank God everything coming back negative.
Thanks everyone!
Tests: Brain,Pituatiary, and spine MRI Catscan of Neck and Abdomen Chest Xray - Front and side.
Negative quest lyme results... awaiting Ingenex results(about three weeks from now).

its good that you are getting tested thru igenex.

I have the weird temperature things too. Here are some I've experienced over the last year.
One hand frozen the other normal.
When I get into a hot bath the water feels very hot on my toes and cold on my shoulders.
When I go to bed I can't get the temperature right. First I lay on my back & I'm really cold and add several blankets. As soon as I turn on my left side I'm burning up and need to take off all the blankets. As soon as I turn back on my back I'm cold again. On lucky days turning on the right side gets me to a medium temp!
The last few days I get very cold & then suddenly very warm. Sometimes I sweat and sometimes I don't. Yesterday my teeth got really cold.

Jade, welcome to the site.
Have you ever had neuropathy testing done? Part of the problems sounds like it could be that.
Are you a diabetic? Neuropathy really sets in then.
I can't see the numbers of your posts from this area, so I'm considerng you a newbie, and will copy/paste some info below for you to go to ok?
Well, I won't...my pc has been giving me problems letting me into my word processor. If you see anyone else's post stating that they are new, look for my post, and copy/paste my newbie info to your word processor to print from & use ok.

Hi Jade,
I have symptom 2 - I do feel cold on one side. The right side - funnily enough, thats the side I got the tick-bite on.
I dont know enough yet to know if thats significant, or why, but it does puzzle me.
Take Care,
Laney

This is an old post bumping it up to see if anyonelse never feels full or is always hungry?
I eat and never feel full.

Can't,
One possible reason for never feeling full is something not necessarily Lyme related. If you are slightly glucose intolerant then your cells are not sensitive to insulin -- can cause you to never feel full.
Try adding chromium and vanadium (minerals) to your supplements and also cinnamon tablets (500 mg) 1 or 2 times daily. This should make a difference within a month if you are insensitive to insulin. If that is your problem you may have some excess sweating when you eat while your body adjusts -- especially if you eat too many carbs.
This is not medical advice, but is based on my personal experiences.

My cortisol is very high (going for more tests soon).....ive been reading this could mess up something with the insulin.
Im on the yeast diet because too many carbs cause me to be hungover.

Hi -- I'm suggesting to every Lymie I know now to try the mangosteen juice for alleviation of Lyme symptoms -- eye pain, body pain etc.
I'm getting good results with the Ultra Mangosteen version.
See discussions on it on this site on the first page about the Xango questions and on the 2nd page about mangosteen juice helping.
Healthfood stores carry juice blends, Vitacost carries the Ultra Mangosteen for $9.53/bottle plus SH$4.99, plus there is a multilevel marketed version too, called Xango.

Hi Jadedemolush,
My dd was just diagnosed with LD. She has a problem with never feeling full, even after eating a complete meal.
She will be ravenously hungry after eating...as if she'd not eaten. ...like if I don't feed her again she'll hurt me, because she is still HUNGRY!
It is probably due to the effect of LD on some nerve (vagal nerve?)...causing a lack of the satiety signal after eating.
I read about this symptom here. An article, "Bell's Palsy of the Gut" and Other GI Manifestations of Lyme and Associated Diseases, was posted by Treepatrol on Sept. 25 on the Medical Questions board. The article is also posted on the ILADS website. Click on publications, then look for the article by Dr. VTS.
This article was printed in the April 2006 issue of PRACTICAL GASTROENTEROLOGY
"Newly discovered Lyme-endangered cerebral hormones and renegade cytokines regulate brain-gut interactions thus initiating behavioral tendencies such as anorexia or a failure of satiety with resultant obesity. " from page 2
Also, I have a weird skin sensation when my hands get wet...I feel like I've rubbed them with Ben-gay. They feel cool and feel like wind is blowing across them. It's only in my hands.
I'm taking minocycline, so maybe that's the cause. It happened early in treatment when I was on doxycycline too. This odd skin sensation might be a side effect of tetracycline(?).
Ask your pharmacist if it could be a side effect of your medication.
Welcome, and I'm sorry you have to be here. Nancy

It could be a localized neuropathy. If your nerves aren't sending signals, you don't know if you are hungry or not.
Cant - I have high cortisol too. My environmental medicine specialist thinks it is adrenal dysfunction. It's related to my autonomic neuropathy. My body is always in stress mode.

Had the chills when birt 10 yrs ago. Never noticed temp change until reinfection in '04 w/babesia. Cold, cold cold, then night sweats like I had a fever.
I had burning spots on my skin, but I had no idea what it was... I thought maybe I had shingles and never experienced them??
Mostly, the hunger was HUGE when I was on abx... not before. I could hardly drink a few sips of coffee or eat more than 1/2 portion of anything. Once started on abx I would have huge "sugar drop" sensations after breakfast. For hunger, I always had raw almonds or protien sources for me at work. I would go through several ounces, but it was the only thing that helped me feel better. I loved peanuts, although they don't like me. (Mold)... watch out for that.
protien, rest, fluids

Yup, I have the second one you mentioned. The R side is cooler than the L side. You can even feel it when you touch the skin. It has improved, but still there. Most/many of my sx is R sided.
