Wonderful, easy, inexpensive and effective way to pull toxins out of tissue and blood.
It doesn't get better than that
(except that it's addictive, but on top of all else.. you get the added bonus of white teeth)
Use only first cold pressed, organic, refined sunflower or sesame oil , do 20 minutes first thing in the AM with an empty stomach (no food or drink) ..
do it after you clean your teeth, and be sure to clean teath, mouth, toungue very well after you are done, and dispose of the toxin laden oil in the toilet, or a plastic baggie (not down the sink!)

I'm sorry, but what is it exactly that you do with the oil? Do you just hold it in your mouth for 20 minutes, or is it something else?
I'd like to try it, so let me know.

A Simple and Mini Detox for Your Health!!!
You've heard the old saying...Wash your mouth out with soap...but what about Wash your mouth out with Oil. Vegetable oil that is!
Sounds strange?
Well it did to me too...until I tried it. It is practiced in Chinese and Ayurveda medicine to clear toxins and cure disease...
What do you do?
You simply rinse the teeth and gums very thoroughly with a tablespoon of sunflower oil. and gently move it around your mouth with a sort of sucking or swishing action....for about 15-20 minutes. You can do this up to 3 times a day on an empty stomach. Other practitioners however, believe that the oil should only be left in for 5-minute intervals before spitting. This is to prevent ingesting the toxins back into the body.
When finished, spit out the oil and wash the mouth out with water or brush your teeth. The oil will be thin and milky. It is poisonous with bacteria... so do not swallow it.
There have been many health claims related to this practice. The first sign of improvement is that the teeth will become firm and white.
We`ve read an account of an Indian fellow whose teeth were loose. It was suggested that he have a full extraction because the rot was too deep. After doing this procedure over a 6-month period of time, his teeth were still intact.
Here's the theory behind the swish...
While sucking the oil, the human salivary glands produce saliva, and with that saliva, the body dumps toxins. During this time, the stomach produces digestive juices, expecting the oil to be swallowed. The liver starts producing bile, expecting the oil to be swallowed. In that bile, the liver dumps heavy metals and some other toxins. Oil sucking will cause a production of bile, and it will increase excretion of bile. That way it will improve digestion, intestinal health, colon health, and prevent constipation.
A few other healing indications mentioned in articles read were:
Disappearance of dark pouches below the eyes More energy Deep Sleep Clearing of Psoriasis Less aches and pains Better memory
Let me state here that I am not making claims regarding this procedure but are simply reporting what I have read. However, I did want to include that the information, does acknowledge that reversing many conditions could take anywhere from two days to a year. Adding, that of course this would depend on the condition.
You might consider giving it a try. And if you do, you can discover for yourself whether you find any healthful benefits.

The key is empty stomach, first thing in the AM works best, otherwise ar least four hours after eating, and at least 1 hr after drinking.
Also - that the 'pulling' or 'swishing' is slow and gentle..
not hurried or hard, and to slowly 'chew' the oil and pull through the teeth repeatedly. Some say concentrating or meditating on it (rather than doing other chores) is important, others do it while showering or what-have-you and say it makes no difference.
There is some debate on the length of time. The Russians generally reccommend sunflower oil, and to do it for the longer session.
Some practitioners reccommend spitting the oil after five minutes max, and then using fresh oil again, for back to back sessions. (this because they believe the mouth will start to re-absorb all the toxins and bacteria you pull)
What you should see happening is that the oil changes in copnsistancy to thin, milky in color and watery.
Some say that it depends on the individual, and when it turns like water, that is when you should spit (in toilet, not sink) and either go again and/or wash your mouth, teeth and tongue thoroughly when you are finished never-the-less.
I am still experimenting with time and results. It seems to vary based on conditions.

Does it has to be sunflower oil
or can it be safflower oil instead?

I read from 'proponents' and the Doc who discovered and studied this that sunflower is best, sesame next best.. but it must be cold pressed and organic.

best to get the oil in glass, not the plastic bottles. residual plasticizers, and other synthetic residues are oil soluble.

I think we should at least honor Dr. Karack by giving his correct name. This is always a part of Dr. K.'s treatment and this text that I have posted here a number of times over several years gives a bit of a different detail.
If you want the total benefit, read it carefully and use the oils indicated. Only organic oils. Cold pressed alone does not mean much, if the plant is not grown organically without pesticides and herbicides. Anything that we "chew" in our mouth for that long can cause us to absorb the bad stuff via the mucus membranes, which is the very thing we want to get rid of by doing the therapy.
Take care.

I would direct everyone to the thread you posted. Somehow I never saw or forgot about that one, and I was wondering what you might know of this therapy.
That thread has much better info that I could not find anywhere else on the web.
I would suggest copying GiGi's thread post to hard drive.

DR. KARACK'S OIL THERAPY TREATMENT
Procedure
In the morning before breakfast, on an empty stomach, take 1 tablespoon of cold pressed vegetable oil in the mouth, but do not swallow. Swish the oil around the mouth, "chew It" (Mayr cure) and mix it with your saliva for 10-20 minutes. Then spit it into the toilet bowl.
Chewing activates the enzymes which draw toxins out of the blood. And In 10-15 minutes, the blood from the entire body has had the opportunity to circulate through and around the mouth. After 10-20 minutes the oil should be thinner and white. If it is still yellow, you have not held it in your mouth long enough. (10 minutes the first week is usually sufficient, then increase to 15-20 minutes as you get clearer.)
Immediately brush your gums, teeth, and tongue with warm salt/soda water 1 cup water to 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp soda, or with food grade hydrogen peroxide diluted in water. Then gargle and spit with the remaining salt/soda water. It is also helpful to tip the cup under the nose and gently sniff up the water to clean the nasal passages. Then gently blow the nose. The sink should be cleaned afterward because the saliva contains harmful bacteria and toxic bodily waste.
Repeat this procedure two to three times a day, before meals, on an empty stomach. Continue this procedure until you are healthy I (few weeks to years...).
Discussion
This procedure has been helpful to curative in almost every disease or dysfunctional immune state that Dr. Karack has encountered. We have found the same amazing results. especially in patients who are detoxing their petroleum solvents. Remember that petroleum solvents are lipophilic and will readily be absorbed into the oil. Additionally, the toxic metals/minerals form soap complexes with the oil, and can then be easily eliminated through spitting.
1 Best Is Omegaflo sunflower by Omega Nutrition. 2 Sesame oil only needs to be held In mouth 3 minutes and Is also very good
This oil technique has also had a major effect on chronic, severely toxic patients. Although neural therapy is excellent for a mild to moderate toxic tonsil focus, severely damaged tonsils can often be saved from surgery with the addition of Dr. Karack's technique. And since the tonsils are the first filtering system in the body for orally ingested toxins, this treatment helps boost everyone's immune system functioning through increased lymphatic cleansing of that area. Remember, too, that even If you have had a tonsillectomy, the lymphatics in the tonsil area are still trying to function as a filter, and neutralize ingested toxins and manufactured microbes in the oral cavity.
Do this one!

Thanks for posting this Mo!
I read all the link and information and am not really sure how the pulling can detox the whole body.
It sounds more like a way to disenfect the mouth?
but think it is no harm in having a "clean mouth "
Since alot of disease and fungus start in the mouth
and I am going to try this as the treatment,as it
doesn't sound like it could hurt.
sorry for more questions
thanks Posted by Mo (Member # 2863) on :
Dunno,
I'm going to see what happens long term, but I am definitely interested in the theories and experiences of those doing it that indicate it is more than just the mouth effected.
That membrane especially under the toungue (where you place sublingual medicines) has a direct exchange with the blood stream. I guess the idea is this exchange can go both ways.
I feel the effects in a systemic way myself since starting it.
Here is Karack's theory, copied from above:
"Chewing activates the enzymes which draw toxins out of the blood. And In 10-15 minutes, the blood from the entire body has had the opportunity to circulate through and around the mouth. After 10-20 minutes the oil should be thinner and white. If it is still yellow, you have not held it in your mouth long enough. Happy swishing

I guess I'd like to know how it tastes? Does it make you gag? Is it disgusting but you do it anyway, knowing the benefits?
Yeah, I can get squeamish pretty easily!
Also, I don't understand how the oil whitens your teeth? Is it just because you are brushing more often or harder?
Posted by Mo (Member # 2863) on :
I don't think it's gross, but I'm wierd anyway --
Think of it like farting - "better out and bear the shame than in and bear the pain"
All I know is the gross stuff you spit out is better out than in.
More brushing might make the teeth whiter, tho I have brushed with baking soda on and off before and never had this effect..
I couldn't begin to tell you exactly why.. but some things I don't need to know the why's and wherefores if they work. Anything tried and true, cheap, natural and effective gets me jazzed. This is one of those things.
Some describe the effect on the liver and gall bladder, the oil in the mouth making them secrete their juices..(you can feel that happening) can be like a 'mini liver cleanse'.. on top of the blood detox. I do know my toungue turned black (like it can on a fast) when I started this. That's the liver.. but I cannot explain, I just do. It's helping me.

Boo Hoo! I went to the only health food store we have in this town, a co-op and the only Sunflower and Sesame Oils they had were not cold pressed and not organic.
I didn't buy.

I would love to find a source for organic cold pressed sunflower or sesame oil. Omega Nutrition, which was recommended, no longer carries sunflower oil and their sesame oil comes in a plastic bottle.
It seems a lot was made of the fact that the quality of the oil was paramount and I am having no luck in finding such a product.
I have done an extensive serch on the web to try to find an oil that is organic,,start to finish, raw seed, comes in a dark glass bottle and will be shipped at a reasonable cost.
Does anyone have a source?

A note on type of oil from the pdf booklet I linked just above:
"Can we use unrefined oil for OP, as unrefined oil will have some vitamins good for health?
Dr. Karach has recommended only refined oil. This has been used by millions of people with wonderful cures and accepted in practice. Regarding unrefined oil there may be ingredients injurious to the body and its taste, color and smell may not be agreeable. It may cause or induce vomiting sensation in some people. Since pesticides and insecticides are used in crops, it is possible that trace elements of such poisonous chemicals are not only harmful to health but also carcinogenic. Since refined oil is colorless, odorless and tasteless, such a situation would not arise. I therefore suggest do not use unrefined oils for OP."

So do you notice any difference in how you feel? Less pain, more energy???
My hygentist is constantly worring about my teeth as is my dentist. Most of their concern is because my mouth is so dry even though I use all the products which are suppose to help.
Do you think it helps your teeth or does it just whiten them?
sick
Posted by luvs2ride (Member # 8090) on :
Sick,
I was working around mold yesterday which flared up my sinuses which flared up a tooth. I swished the oil last night for 20 mins and when I woke up this morning, tooth flare was gone. Sinuses are still congested. I swished the oil again.
The way the oil whitens your teeth is by removing plaque, so obviously healthy for the teeth.
I have a hard time sticking to this routine as I work, own a farm and just have a hard time finding 20 mins in the morning, but when I do stick to it, that rough plaque buildup behind my front teeth goes away completely. As a result, I have not had to have my teeth professionally cleaned in two years. Finally, something that saves me money.
Someone earlier made a point about fats breaking down plastic. That is absolutely true, and all plastic bottles containing oil or any other fat should be #5. You will find that on the bottom of the bottle within a triangle.
Otherwise, glass is best.

I keep it in the fridge to lengthen its stability/life. You don't have to do it for twenty minutes, Luv. You chomp and gargle until its frothy and white. I do it for about ten. Just do it when you get up in themorning. Before brushing teeth. Can even do it in the shower!

I started doing the Oil Pulling four weeks ago. Only had Light Olive Oil in-house at the time...but wanted to see what it was like.
Sure felt good from the very first time.
Have since purchased Sunflower Oil. Works great and I swish approx 20-30 min...it's then all white.
I spit in toilet (less opportunity for clogged pipes & easy cleanup).
I found the info from a different forum. Glad to know Gigi is a wonderful lady who shares so much.
Swishing has become a daily 1st-thing-in-the-morning routine.
I will do the swish at night as well. Had not thought about that.

I looked at the Flora brand and it says it is "unrefined", and I heard the Sunflower oil for oil pulling must be refined.
What brand of sunflower oil should I buy? I looked for that brand mentioned on the first page that Dr. K recommended, but it seems like it doesn't exist anymore.
Thanks!

I bought my expeller pressed refined organic sunflower oil at Whole Foods. It comes in a glass bottle.
It is by Spectrum which is not my favorite company since one of their employees died from a bad accident at work but my Whole Foods carries mostly oils by Spectrum.

Been doing this for two years...found a post here about it and started...my "swishes" are quite clear unless I have been on abx and have a sudden die-off where I get more 'milky' after 10 minutes. Instead of snorting the soda/salt water afterwards, I use a neti pot with soda/salt water in both nostrils and this is my morning routine before ingesting or doing anything else! I haven't had a candida or bad breath problem since, never had a yeast infection since, and my numbers on babs/bart/ehrlichia/lyme have been going down with no other reason behind it. I FULLY believe in oil pulling, and organic sunflower is what I've used.
Once we are free of toxins, it's amazing what wonderous things we can experience in life that we had never smelled/tasted before! Our senses are magnified by a million!
One other thing, in the beginning, I had a grayish color to the oil, and was told that was from heavy metals. Dunno, just know what I've personally experienced. I have not had any ill side effects that I know of!
Happy swishing!

Anyone feel their teeth move after doing this?
One odd thing, that could be unrelated..but I had braces a while ago as an adult. After I oil pulled...my teeth started to abruptly shift back to the old condition...it made me nervous about ever oil pullng again.
Just wondering if the oil moves into the root...causing movement if they were originally moved with braces?
