Is shortness of breath always babs or can it just be lyme symptom as well. I am starting to wander as much babs treatment that i have had....artemisinin, bactrimds, mepron, zith, and riamet. this is still around and wanderin if anyone had this disappear after only treating long term lyme and not babs. Thanks, Robin in Houston

Robin, the zith would have gotten after the lyme and the babs. There's a nerve that runs along the chest wall that the keets love.
Whether it's the lyme or babs wouldn't matter because your actually treating both. Perhaps, you just haven't been treated long enough.
How long have you been treated ? Dosage ?

Sometimes shortness of breath is related to cardiac function -- do you have heart palps or any cardiac symptoms?
Ever had a stress EKG done? Does exercise trigger this or is there some other trigger such as stress? What about possible allergies?
Just some other possibilities.

It can also be a mycoplasma symptom.

Rifampin can cause shortness of breath too. There may be other drugs with this side effect also.
I don't know what you are currently taking.
Pomegranite

I've had bad episoides of shortness of breath and different things have helped. I had a bad episoide last fall and diflucan helped right away so I think it was yeast gone out of control. I have had it from Babesia and mepron and zith helped. Another person on our support group had her shortness of breath go away with ramfipin so it was probably bartonella.
