Although the study admits to possible longterm toxicity, it declares it safe based on studies lasting 5-7 years.
Sounds a little flawed to me!

Interesting article. What amazes me is that some people, like my dad, have a whole mouthful of mercury and no ill effects at age 83 and yet other people have ill effects from mercury.
Mercury has a half life in the blood of 3 days in the body tissue of about 90 days, so it is eliminated pretty efficiently by our bodies.
What concerns me is the long term effects of the new resins and polymers that are used to fill cavities. Maybe in 20 years we will find they are toxic, too. Hiker

There also is no Chronic Lyme Disease according to the same institution.
Many many are infected with Lyme bacteria and co-infections. Many have amalgam fillings and/or are exposed to mercury and heavy metals. Yet many many do not get chronic Lyme Disease and do not become chronically ill from these toxins.
