I got better sleep when taking the tetra...Now that I am on Biaxin/Plaq, I have been losing sleep for a week and waking during the night!

seems like your obsessing about it.

That too will make you lose sleep.

Im guilty of that too. The only way to tell is to go off.

I haven't been on Biaxin yet for Lyme, but I discovered years ago that it kept me awake at night.

I've avoided it since then, but the ducks rolled their eyes [Roll Eyes] when I mentioned the problem. Now I avoid them, too! [Big Grin]

Here is some info on drugs that can mess with your sleep, particularly stage 4 which is critical because that is when we heal.

Hi,

I do not want to take something to make me sleepy when I should have that natural effect anyway....

Tetra, NEVER made me lose sleep, actually, I slept better while taking Tetra...

This is NOT a good combo for me....

I'm very contrary. The meds that make me lose sleep are the ones that are supposed to help. Sonata, Zoloft, trazadone....I am currently taking Librium for sleep.

And Yes, my doc says I obsess too much about not sleeping. I want to say to him "you try going day after day with only 1 - 2 hrs sleep at night and try to function!"

Sorry to hear that you have been suffering from insomnia lately.

You may want to prepare yourself before going to bed by drinking sleeping tea, playing soft music, dimming the lights.... or anything that might help you relax and get you in sleep mode. I have seen that trying to go to sleep after I'm in "sleep mode" is much easier and it kind of helps. (plus it is all natural, can't hurt!)

I had A LOT of issues with sleep while on treatment, it took me a VERY long time to figure out what worked for me. I spent many sleepless nights reading LymeNet. You guys were my company at ungodly hours!

Now that I think of it, what I think helped me the most was swimming in the evenings - I would come back beat and just crash!

Sweet Dreams! [Smile]

Hi Guys, and thanks as always!

I am not going to become a multi pill junkie, no F-ing way!

I am off the Biaxin/Plaq combo, it just does not work well for me given the multiple side effects...

I have months of Tetracycline left over and will continue that until next week when I see a new LLMD.

If the one I am seeing now, Dr. D., wishes to prescribe me something else, that will be more suitable for me, then I will see...

Also I need to keep in mind what this LLMD who treats yeast, lyme, co's, etc., has to say and what he thinks I should do next....

What I mean by pill junkie is, and I explain this here so no one will read it, and think they are reading what they want to read, is I refuse to take meds that have awful side effects, and then take others to cancel out the others.

NO WAY!

Hey! have you tried the natural way..melatonin, valerian, kava kava, chamomile? When you take melatonin make sure you turn off all lights, TV etc 1 hour before bed, or it wont work. Also, you are not supposed to take it every night, hope that may help.
