Hi everyone. I noticed a new weird symptom while i was at a festival in PA on saturday. While i was walking around all day in the nice sunny weather (wearing sandals), i noticed my toes got really red after a while, just the toes.

If i pressed on them they would be white-- definitely a circulatory situation. But it was so weird, just the toes were red like they were spray painted and the rest of the foot was ok. This is my newest symptom and i first noticed it a couple months ago but it was only my first two toes.

I am sending my test out to igeneX but i am so scared because if it is negative, i am afraid i probably have lupus (i have a slight malar rash)

Any thoughts?
Michelle

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I have gotten that for a few years. They get hot and red and swollen actually. Sometimes so much it seems that they are like three times their size. I can't believe someone else gets the same thing.

Well, your toes do a lot of work when walking and the circulation really kicks in. My toes also get red when I shower. Go figure.

This happens to me too on a pretty regular basis. My knees do the same thing: red, swollen and warm to the touch. It was actually one of my first symptoms.

It has always baffled me, its interesting to hear about people with the same unusual symptom.

my palms and soles of feet/toes do this when I walk or when I get warm. They get bright red and hot to touch. I hadn't met anyone else that has this symptom..strange.

My toes do it too--it's SO bizarre. But once I started Doxy they became red when walking so much more often than they had before. And I wasn't walking in the sun. Can't believe it's a common symptom.

I am sooooo glad you brought this topic up. I have EXACTLY as you describe and It's been happening for about 3 months now - I don't even need to walk far without getting bright red toes, just getting out of bed and walking to my computer they are red.
Also, the red hot kneecaps are very common in Lyme patients, we had a discussion about this a while ago on EuroLyme.

Think Acrodermatitis Chronicitis..... tell your LLMD, it doesn't just happen in European Lyme. Don't forget to photograph!!!
