Some are itchy some not but there are not that many of them and their total number seems to be constant so I doubt that this is an allergy.
They take weeks to disapear but new are arriving. Also have itchy skin spots, nothing visible but when scrached turn reddish. The spots also show after hot shower.
I have noticed them first when started tetracyklines. Anybody can relate to it? Any comments?

Hi,
When I was younger, I would get this and I thought it was heat rash.
I have tested positive for Bartonella Henselae and that can cause red spots of all different sorts.
In my case, I think the spots from my younger days were from Bart. My LLMD now says that my acne is probably Bart.
Hope this helps,
Corgilla

At present, I look like someone attacked me with a fine point red marker, held me down, and went *poink* *poink* *poink* all over my body. As my treatment progresses, I am getting more and more dots (*poink!*).
I think they are called petechiae. Some of the larger ones are raised a bit.
I definitely have Bartonella, testing positive for it and also the lovely and attractive Bart rash.

Had them on my legs. LLMD said they were a bb reaction to the abx.

Most of mines are like mosquito bites.

I have all of these and have no idea. Posted by Laurie (Member # 159) on :
Have your platelet count measured just in case they're internal bruising.

It is not bruising or bleeding - simply some itchy spots sometimes sore a little above the skin level; no doubt that there is some inflammation; papule is perhaps a good medical word for them? They are not petechiae as I know how petechiae look like.
They are localized mainly on my upper body: arms, torso, neck. They look a little like this: http://www.aafp.org/afp/20000115/357_f2.jpg but no pus or anything inside. The picture is not perfect but couldn't find anything better.
A few do have small lacerations at the top but most not.
I looked into some pictures of Bartonella but still hesitate. Also Bartonella is treatable with Doxycykline and I am on large dose of Doxycykline for the last 6 weeks. Vets treat Bart in cats with Doxy for 2 weeks.
Here you can see several slides on Bart skin changes (use arrows to turn slides) The skin changes are not even remotely similiar to what I have.

I would be cautious about being so confident that Doxy will resolve Bartonella. It generally will not.

Right, I assume I could take Levaquin as an addition to Doxy.
Anybody knows what dose per day and for how long?
Posted by trueblue (Member # 7348) on :
I don't about the Levaquin dosage.
But the picture and what you describe seems the same as what I'm experiencing. (As well as some other odd skin things.)
Sorry to be absolutely no help. Posted by Areneli (Member # 6740) on :
It is actually helpful to know that there is another fellow with LD and the same symptoms.

yep, i've got those red dots. i feel like drawing a line between them and seeing what i get!!!
wierd thing is tho that since i've been on amoxy, they have been getting smaller.

Hi All
I used to have a rash like that-- ( Many years over whole body)
Some itched and some had a nerve type thing that when I scratched one- I could feel the scratch on a Different place on my body ie-- scratch one on my leg and feel it on my back ect--
After I added Babs treatment-- the rash slowly dissiappered--
Now its completely gone --AAhhhh
The rash also seamed to cluster in a area then -- the joint that the rash was covering would start to Hurt --Ouch --
I can not prove this but I think the rash is caused by Babs --
