I saw my GP doctor today, he was swell - I brought him a pile of info on testing and the CD57 test, which he had never heard of, as well as all the case studies I could find. He decided that based on past problems and what he saw on the the WB test, to start me on a 60 course of doxy, we'll evaluate after 30 and 60 and decide what's after that.
He knew he could never get IV antibs to fly with the insurance company, and I don't think I can pay for that out of pocket even if ordered by a LLMD, so I'm pretty happy that he at least agreed to treat what he sees.
I am stocked up on PB8 and chewable acidopholus, any other suggestions for surviving 60 days on doxy? I am SO dreading it...me and antibiotics, we don't get along very well. Kind of cheesed off that I can't have my Derby Day mint julep either!

Do you know how long you have been infected?
It may be because you are have been herxing on the abx in the past.
I sure was but the only one who ever cared to look into or knew anything about was my LLMD.
Good luck with everything and hang on.
Maybe you can enjoy a Mint-Julip sometime in the distant future.
Take care and peace.

THe best probiotic in the WORLD is THERALAC. It can only be gotten from the company.
You only need one a day and can be taken any time. It WORKS. I also take PB8 on top of it as I feel like you never can get enough probiotics!
so glad you are getting some of the help and ABX you need!

I've been infected for a minimum of 8-10 years, I was treated then with three weeks of amoxy, but possibly as long as 30 years - that would make sense as far as when my malaise and rigor mortis symptoms started to appear in the early 80's. I spent more than a few weekends in southern CT in the late '70's early '80's, I could easily have been bitten there and never knew it. Would also make sense as to why no antibody tests have ever been positive, it's just been so damn long.
Oh well, it's a start....

That's great news...I wish you well.
I've rarely been able to tolerate antibiotics in my life, long before Lyme. But I tolerated Doxy beautifully - it was truly a life saver, especially given it was the first antibiotic I used after my Lyme diagnosis.
I've been taking probiotics all along and have had no problems. But I, too, recently ordered Theralac and am awaiting its arrival. I think my current probiotics just aren't working enough anymore.
I also take Florastor brand of saccharomyces boulardii - it's a different kind of beneficial intestinal support - actually a beneficial type of yeast, that can help prevent the C. Diff. infection (colitis) that can occur from antibiotics.
There are some recent threads about Doxy and the sun, and Doxy and teeth staining/cleaning, so I would recommend those. I was on Doxy in the midst of summer in Southern California and did burn despite every precaution I could take, so just be careful.
