I just started to have numbness and tingling in my feet. Burning sensation and the feeling is starting to go up my leg.
I am currently seeing a LLMD, I just wanted to know if anyone else has or is going through this.
If so what have you done that seemed to help it.
I took one biaxin pill wednesday then held it and decided to start biaxin and plaqenil sunday because I had to work. I always have to be careful when I start new meds.
So now I have this numbness on the bottoms of my feet and tingling. The feeling is going up my calf area.
I had a at time last june, where had trouble walking. I just dont want that to happen again..
Beings I took Biaxin one pill wednesday I would think this is not a herx. Prior to this I have been off my meds for about a week due to a herx with clindamycin and quinine.
So if anyone has any advice. Send it my way!! Thanks.
I see Dr. C.. I just saw him tuesday and had none of this. Things come on so fast and its unpredictable.

Numbness in my foot was one of my first Lyme symptoms. It started when I'd walk more than a mile, but at its worst, it was difficult for me to walk at all.
I had numerous MRIs done of my foot, ankle, brain. None showed anything out of the ordinary. I went to a variety of specialists for this: sports docs, neurologists, rheumatologists, podiatrists, a chiropractor and a physical therapist.
Each one knew conclusively what the problem was and was sure of how to help. Two shot me full of cortisone. One gave me drugs. I just kept getting worse.
Now that I've been dx wtih Lyme and on abx for 11 months, I don't have the numbness nearly as often. But it still happens. It did today, actually, walking on a cobblestone street during a spring art fair.
Since most of my other symptoms have diminished or disappeared completely, I just have to have faith that this one will also go in time.
Hope this is helpful and hope you're able to get some relief from this. It hasn't been my favorite symptom.

I don't have any advice for you.
Just letting you know that I have tingling bottoms of my feet, up into my calves, like you.
I also have tingling hands, up into my arms, as well as tingling tongue and lips.
This started back in October for me and it happens pretty consistently every day(although it comes and goes throughout the day).
I too, would like to know if anyone has some advice.
I see a neurologist in June. We'll see what he has to say.
I know for sure that it's Lyme related, so I don't think there's anything he can do for it.
Figure these symptoms will subside as I get better.

Yes I have it too. I recently went back onto Plaquenil & Biaxin. Several days last week I hand numbness and tingling in my hands.
Last summer while on Biaxin, a portion of my calf would go numb for hours at a time. A few times my knees went numb.
I think the tingling in my feet/ankles is from the toxins. Soaking in Epsom salts & using Podipatches helps a lot. hatsnscarfs

I also feel I've gotten some relief from these symptoms by using the detox foot patches, as Hats said.

I had both toe/feet ankle half-way up my calf numb for many many months.... and it was constant
I couldnt drive... couldnt feel my foot against the pedal.
One day I looked down and my cat had his claws in my leg....
I didnt feel a thing...and he has some big claws that pierced the skin.... If I didnt see him do it I wouldnt have known.
Now the only place I have tingling I have is on the top of my left foot... there is a little less sensation than in my right foot but if I drop something on it it hurts so it must not have lost too much sensation. (I am really clumsy)
Lyme treatment is what helped.
Your definetely not alone.

Thank You so much for all the comments!!! It has really helped. I talked with my doctor and he recommended to hold medicine until things get better.
I cant believe one biaxin pill would cause this. Prior to this I was off antibiotics for a week or so due to herxing on clindamycin and quinine.
I took one biaxin pill wednesday then decided I better not start a new medicine before I work. I work friday and saturday. Friday when I woke up I had the numbness in my feet.
So where do you get the detox pads that go on your feet? Where would you find those at?

I had tingling and pain on the soles of my feet every morning when I first got out of bed until I walked a few feet. Never knew what caused it as I hadn't been Dx'd yet and wasn't on any Rx.
I started treatment a year ago this month. My llmd told me that the foot pain was caused by one of the co-infections. Sorry, I don't remember which one (memory problems - that's a whole different symptom of course:-) I was treated for both bart and babs, and as soon as I started Biaxin the foot pain did go away.
My feet have never bothered me like that again after a year of Rx. Now, I only suffer from extreme charlie horses in my ankles and shins whenever I'm off Rx. Saw llmd today - he said I'm still battling bart :-(

I have this neuropain all the time now (my worst symptom - goes from my low back to my heel/toes), and mine seems to be getting better w/treatment very slowly, but I am very cautious about flagyl especially (it immediately makes mine worse). I take tindamax (not as much as I should). Are you on any cyst busters?

Numbness and tingling in my feet was my first symptom some 5 years ago. I also went to a million different MDs, PTs, and such and each tried many different things with minimal success.
I then started getting it in my hands, ears (ewww), tongue, and up my legs.
I also get a burning sensation that is much worse. When I had my heavy metals tested before knowing I had Lyme they were high. The cheleattion really helped lesson these symptoms for awhile.
I have also had some help with Topomax (anti seizure med).
When I first started Ketek some Lyme symptoms went away immediately but these symptoms went through the roof!
Since starting Babs treatment the tingling and burning has started to become more sporadic- thank goodness.

numbness and tingling in my feet is one of the first symptoms I had, too. And it's one of the symptoms that hasn't seemed to get much better, while other sx have improved.
I just started tinidazole last week, and I think I had one or two days where one of my feet felt better, so I'm hopeful that this sx will start going away too.

Lets see,
I get the feeling that someone dropped my legs into hot acid.
Or that they took out a big knife and cut from the toes to the heel, and I walked a mile like this.
Burning stabbing knawling aching pains.

This was exactly my symptom. Questran helped a lot and quickly so I guess it was caused by Bb toxin.
