I did and was wondering how many tested positive CDC on igenex. Thanks

I was just shy by one band each for both IGM and IGG. But I had a number of the special bands that were also indeterminate. If they would give any credit to these I would be extremely positive. I have lyme. LOL

I think so--my IGm & IGg both said positive on the report...

Positve on IgG and IgM.
Posted by bettyg (Member # 6147) on :
yes, on both.
NAT, your sheet will show 2 things:
positive or negative w/IGX resuts and also if you met CDC requirements vs. IGX's... it's confusing but ONLY CDC positives are counted! not fair.

Betty- hmm- it looks like the IGG had 3 bands ++ and +++ and 3 IND ( so not all 5?) and the IGM had more than the 2 required +, ++, +++? ( I had 11+ in IGM) but I really have no idea what it all means..

I was CDC positive on IgM but not IgG. When I asked my doc how he was sure I have Lyme he mentioned my VERY LOW CD57 count plus I was CDC positive on the IgM.
He said he has to report me to the CDC as having Lyme since I met their criteria so he considers me as having Lyme!
Nat, on your Igenex report for the IgM and the IgG it will say Result: Positive or Result: Negative. If it says "Negative" it just means you didn't meet the CDC criteria of being positive...it doesn't necessarily mean you don't have Lyme.

Daughter & I both IgM positive.

You can count me in as POSITIVE POSITIVE. LLMD said it indicated I have had lyme for over a year-actually it has been two years since I was bit by tick.
Now I am Biting Back in BALTO, Carol

So close...
I tested 4 positive and one equivocal bands on IgG, 4 years after diagnosis. (Seems like just a half a band away from CDC positive.) Posted by Semi-Retired (Member # 7722) on :
IgM was Igenex highly equivocal and CDC -, and IgG was + for both.

CDC positive IGM from IGenex. CDC positive IGM also on daughter from IGenex.
Nasty ticks in our necka the woods.
(Y'know, in California, where they don't have any Lyme disease.)

CDC positive IGM from Igenex.
Nope, definitely no Lyme here in California! Nope nope nope.
So far I am the only one in my family to be dx'd, although just yesterday my sis was wearing a swimsuit and I noticed the Bart rash all over her. Good thing we don't have Bart in California either.

Can someone tell I would be IGM CDC positive if I have been sick for 10 years? I dont understand, I thought IGM was a new infection. Thanks
Posted by lymster (Member # 5964) on :
I tested CDC positive by Igenex, but before this test I was already positive by QWEST and then by DYNACARE. I did all this testing because the moron ID duck that I had at the time just couldn't believe I had LYME, so he just kept dismising every single test; he even made me do a spinal tap.
YES! I said made me do it, he will not rx'ed any abx until I had a spinal tap done, so I did it in order to get a lousy 14 days of doxy at a 200 mg/day. What a joke! The abuse that we have to endure as Lyme patients is "unhuman".
Take care, Lymstaer in WA

Hi Suz. IgM needn't mean a "new" infection, just an "active" one. I.E., you're not cured. The spirochetes are there and doing dirty deeds.
Whereas, on the other hand, if you were cured, you might expect to have a positive IgG but a negative IgM.
However, sometimes these are interchangeable so the most reliable indicator of all is symptoms.
Clear as mud?

Yes - IGM
Posted by Hides1 (Member # 6348) on :
Yes, second time I was positive on the Igenex IGM for CDC criteria. First time showed some bands and some INDs. Both my sons were CDC positive on there first Igenex tests- one was IGM and the other was IGG. Both are being treated. This was after all three of us had numerous PCR's that had showed nothing. So kudos to Igenex!

Yep -CDC positive
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Nope, not me. I was ill for too many years for my immune system to register much of a response. My second WB was "more positive" than the first....more bands showed up...still not CDC +

I am IGG and IGM CDC positive. I was surprised since I've been sick for twelve years, and probably infected since childhood.

Hi, I am positive on only 1 band. What does that mean. Dr. P in CT says its Lyme though. But then he said, "Keep in mind that it might still be MS." Perhaps he has to say that to protect himself. Confused as all get up.

Which band?
Posted by LYMESCIENCE (Member # 9259) on :
I was positive, 6 bands, 3 indeterminate, 1 negative on the IGG Western Blot.

Me: CDC positive IgM and IgG Dad: (age 85 "Alzheimer's") IgM CDC positive/IgG one band short of CDC positive, but seroconverted and added one more band, becoming CDC positive on IgG, too, after abx challenge

Had 2 bands positive for B burgdorferi on IgG Western blot. IGeneX says that's a positive; CDC wants 5 bands, so says negative. Well, the proof's in the pudding, so to speak. I started on clindamycin and within 3 days, the pain and swelling went down in my ankle. Within a week, the pain all over my body was going down. The following week, chemical sensitivity went down, and fatigue diminished. CDC negative schmegative... Nope, I'm a 2-band positive!
