I have been having pain on each side of my back. It has been going on for a few years now. It started when I was very under weight and receiving 4 grams of claforan for lyme treatment via IV about 2-3 weeks into the treatment I had sudden pains on each side of my back. I quit the treatment. Ever since then the pain has gotten worse and now ever time I take any antibiotics it makes the pain even worse. Also anytime I have an infection the pain gets worse. Stress and hormonal changes make it worse as well. Could the antiobitics at that high of adose and that low of a weight done anything? What could be hurting in my back so bad and why?

I have adrenal fatigue from Lyme, but the symptoms are nothing like what you described. Sorry I can help you more.

Hi Lymefighter,
Has your doctor checked your kidney function? Are you drinking enough water? At any rate, our bodys are under a tremdous anount of stress when we are fighting any disease.
I can't remember at the moment the exact reason, but our adrenals are under a great deal of stress with lyme disease. I usually take b-5, and vitamin c for the adrenals, and it really helps.
Hopefully, someone here can give you more insight, but don't ignore these symptoms.
Hope this helps,
Gael

Blood test revealed I am low in DHEA which indicates poor adrenal function. This can occur with aging and I am 50 so I had not thought to connect it with Lyme.
My doctor has me on prescription strenght DHEA which was compounded by a local apothacary.
