What is better or does it do basically the same thing?

I think like any other abx it varies from person to person.

I made progress on both.

Bicillin is less of a hassle though.

_ just my opinion though.

Best wishes

Bicillin has worked real well for me. I have occasional symptoms but, basically, I've returned to normal life. I have not done IV Rocephin, or any other IVs, so I have no basis for comparison.

If you use the search function and type in Bicillin, you will find that many people are very positive about it. Really, Luke, check it out.

The down side is that it may not work as quickly as IV and also can pack a hell of a herx. I wonder if you would be able to tolerate that as you seem fairly anxious.

Medically, it's easy on your body organs and seems to have a much lower relapse rate than IV Rocephin. Also, for me it's much more acceptable to me to get jabbed three times a week than to live with an IV in my arm. I lead a pretty active life style, including working out, gardening, bike riding, swimming, and using the showers and hot tub at the gym. All of these activities could easily lead to a site infection if I was taking IVs.

These are my impressions gathered from my own treatment and following Lymenet for almost four years.

I've never been on Bicillin but my LLMD uses it alot with other patients and David is right, it packs a major herx. It is also a very effective treatment option.

I've done IV Rocephin and I felt that it did me quite a bit of good. The PICC line is a pain but it didn't stop me from doing almost everything that I normally do. Swimming and showering is somewhat challenging though.

I've been getting bicillin shots for nearly four months and for the first time in close to two years my health is almost normal. Prior to the bicillin shots I had a PICC line put in me and within 24 hours I had to have it out. My body could not tolerate it. The shots however don't bother me at all. I had one horrific night from hell about a month into the shots which I'm assuming was a herx but that was the only time.

Personally, there's no comparison between the PICC line which felt like a foreign invader in my body and a minute or two of discomfort twice a week. But it varies so much from person to person. I know people who tolerated the PICC line well. For me, the bicillin injections have been like a miracle and given me hope that my life can be normal again.
