Welp. I have been in the most excruciating pain for the past few days. It feels focused in my lower back, above the tailbone. But the pain has been so severe, that it feels like my entire pelvic area is affected. With this, I have also experienced pain in my heels when walking (or shuffling, rather), severe tendon pain, and numbness in my legs. My feet also have areas of numbness and feel cold and clammy.
Ugh! This was precipitated by facial numbness on the left side, blurred vision/eye pain, headaches, twitches and tingling in my limbs. Not sure if they are related.
Has anyone had issues like this? By yesterday, the untreated pain began to affect my entire body. I was feeling like everything was going haywire. I began to have abdominal pain, girl area pain, knees, joints, low fever, EVERYTHING!!
My doc prescribed Vicoprofen, and it has blunted the pain, although I didn't realize how powerful this med is and became quite ill last night. I also didn't sleep well.
I have been on Lyrica for about 8 months. This is supposed to help with nerve pain, so I don't understand why I am experiencing this! When I spoke with my doc on the phone, he said it could be in my back, but it could also be referred pain. If I do not improve this weekend, I am supposed to go in to see him on Monday.
The only other time something similar has occurred, the pain was in my back (in my "spine") between my shoulder blades. But it didn't spread to my other body parts.
Apologies for the long post. Can anyone relate? Any input? Thanks in advance!

No Flagyl...
I had been on the Diflucan protocol for awhile. But for the past month, I have only been on thyroid, lyrica, and a smidge of lorazepam at bedtime.
Prior to the Diflucan, I had been on different abx combos for about a year.
This event hit me out of nowhere. No falls, lifting, or anything. Posted by Aniek (Member # 5374) on :
It definitely could be referred pain. I get lower back pain that is accompanied by severe pain in my ankles and feet.
Most of my pain is caused by the inflammation and tightening of muscles that refer the pain. It's possible it is back muscles that are tight.
If that's the case, Flexeril helps me the most. I've been taking it regularly since 2004.
I also have twitches and uncontrolled tics. I just saw a neurologist about that yesterday.

Fancykat, I have experienced much nerve pain, expecially in my left leg. My neurologist says I have quite a bit of neuropothy in my legs also, however she does not believe it is from lyme. She is one of those docs who does not believe lyme is in the midwest. About 4-6 weeks ago I was in extreme pain, and experiencing numbness in my right side, which was new. I was not sure what was causing the increase in pain until I again read several posts about herxing. I then realized it may have been that since I was on the abx for a couple of months. I went off of that particular med. because of problems with my stomach. The severe pain stopped about a week later. I now believe it was the antibiotic I was taking, although I can't remember the name of it. My doc put me on Biaxin, which I cannot take, so I went back to the old one. I am again experiencing an increase in nerve pain. I'm thinking about calling my doc as I need more pain meds. again. Good luck, I really can relate to your pain. Hang in there! Carlie

I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I am in the process of testing at this time. The neuro put me on Lyrica, which was a Godsend until a couple of days ago...it's no longer working and the pain is back. It is horrible pain...numbness, feeling like feet are on fire, then intense stabbing, electrical surges, and absolute labor pains in my feet, radiating up my legs. Especially when I go to bed at night, they really hurt. Interestingly enough, this happened after 4 months of 2 gms IV Rocephin and 1500 mg Flagyl daily. They're not sure what's causing it, I wish you much luck, and healthy healing, Jill
